Halo is a party game. We had some FUN times going into 6am having drinks and pizza. nothing like a bunch of friends being loud and obnoxious with tv's facing opposite of each other with close even matches.

Even just watching was great. Being stupid would get some great laughs, and as long as the games were competitive it was always great times. Waiting your turn was the worst part when you had more than 8 (We played 2 TV's 2 xbox's, not 360's).

Although we played Halo 2 at those times, because it's multiplayer was better for parties.

Speaking of party games...

Has anybody here had the pleasure of playing the splitscreen multiplayer of TimeSplitters 1 or 2?  The characters and settings were a bit more cartoonish, with a lot of stereotyping, but the gameplay itself, especially splitscreen, was nearly identical to Goldeneye.  I can't count how many times my buddies and I would play from sun down to sun up.  There was just so much customization, so many different games you could set up.

Dual wielding is a special combat technique in which a gunman wields two weapons at once, one in each hand. This feature was first introduced into the Halo video game series in Halo 2 and continued in Halo 3.
From: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Dual_wielding

Truth: Not too sure if it was the first game, but Goldeneye 64 introduced dual wielding WAAYY before Halo 2.

Reread the quote:

"This feature was first introduced into the Halo video game series with Halo 2 and continued in Halo 3".  So no false claim was made here, just bringing information on where it started in the Halo series.

Otherwise, I agree with most of what you posted.

Vehicular Combat
From: Nearly every Halo fanboy.

Truth: I see this one a lot.  How Halo is the first game to introduce vehicular combat, or a slightly less insulting version, the first game to introduce team-based vehicular combat.  Both of these are dead wrong.  The concept of multi-vehicular combat I can trace back to the Tribes genre.

How about 2 years earlier?

completely off topic, but the Cerebal Bore and Chicken Mode in Turok 2 on the N64 were AWESOME when put together.  It was great when playing 4 player split screen, now that makes a great party game.

Ahh memories.  I remember playing CS and TFClassic doing decent enough playing PC.  Then I moved away from my buddy who pc gamed and made friends with console gamers. For years i fapped them up good due to learning tricks like circle strafing, not standing still,  etc ;)  They claimed I would cheat HAHAA console gamers... pfft.

But yeah they rented turok and played it over night, i came over mid day and they only lasted 30 minutes before i was wiping them on the floor.  Was fun times.

I am sad. The lack of responses lead me to believe there are no old SkyNET players here? No one recognizing the moons pained screams as you shoot it down?

Duke Nukem 64 had some pretty good multiplayer to it. The single player was too watered down (in content and difficulty), but the multiplayer made up for it.
