Sal also made palisades, just thought i'd throw that out there too.  Hopefully, his next version will be even better :D

Down with Clearcut! Thunder Rift or Marshes would look much better in that spot.

...and yes, I have Urban Jungle. Very nice map. I'd love to see it made official. Are the devs and the map maker not on the same page regarding some point?

Sal was an offical map dev for a while, but there are restriction on what map assets the Dev team can use in maps they publish, also he didn't have time  (or something like that) to make a full commitment.

So he's taken UJ as his pet "community" project, updating here and there when he has time.

How does it look/perform compared to the 032 version? Haven't had the chance to play TC UJ yet.

Looks awesome and performance has been fine for me...a couple hangups but that's the case for all maps in my experience.

It's one of my favorite maps. I personally wouldn't mind seeing a DV/ UJ 24/7 server.

It's similar to the old TSA UJ map but with some better details if you have the quality turned up.  The map is still HUGE with highway/street systems connecting everything.  Flying will still eat your FPS since you'll be trying to render the whole city  from your bird's eye view.

There's still some flow issues, but not bad for a V1 community TC map.

Well designed versus airpower. Despite the existence of all air assets on UJ, the overhead freeways can be used as cover, so it's less frustrating as a ground pounder. My initial fear was that the long building cooridors would simply set the planes up for bombing runs, and mechs wouldn't have the elbow room to maneuver out of the way. That turned out to not be much of a concern however.

You will see other maps rotated into the map rotations periodically  :)
For now we are not using Marshes because lots of players CTD on it.
Although some do not... there are too many who do to leave it in the map rotation.

Yay for clearcut, will echo the sentiments of wanting to see thunder-rift back at some point, but it looks great. :)

Shame, I much prefer Thunder Rift over Extremity.  Some of the most fun battle's I've ever had have been on it.  Otherwise, the rotation looks nice.

Especially this little epic chain of fun...

Both are great. Thunder Rift is a wonderful respite from the aircraft, while I love poptarting for the LOLs on Extremity. Ya can get off a buncha volleys before finally sinking back down....though that has proven to be a double edged sword at times...

I never see Extremity any more.

I preferred the earlier 'barren asteroid' version, which didn't have the big and credulity-stretching indestructibe radar dishes cluttering up the middle.

I'd like to see the earlier version back.
