I disagree about there being too many bases in mirage, it really spreads the battle out and assures the whole map will be used.

The beatstick is better if there is lots of cover around, run from one cover to the other and hit once in stride, will be much more damage than you could get off with UAC20s in such a short engagement window. Also its better if everyone else has better DPS, as you can finish damaged opponents quickly as they are softened up by everyone else.

Mk II B is good. But it's UACs are lagging and CDSSRMs are useless due to all the bugs. Also, ammunition problems. I'm not using it because of this.

Bugged or not, those SSRMs do get through, and to brutal effect. With almost no other mech can you, as I frequently do on TC_Thunder Rift, walk the mk2 B into a base by yourself, and singlehandedly make quick work of an entire lance of enemy mechs. Beatstick would cripple one of them, and the rest of the enemies would kill him while he reloaded. Likewise the Mauler E (also available at the same rank, with LBX20s, and with more room for ammo than Beatstick) actually has better burst damage than Beatstick, and almost as good DPS as the Mk2 B, but it wouldn't have the armor to withstand the return fire.

The Mk2 B is for when you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfapper in the room.

SSRM are only a visual bug, they still fly in their normal pattern so lead them a bit even with a lock.

Usually, yes. But they do bug out a lot of times anyway, exploding in mid air (all of them, without any of them hitting the enemy, indicated by the lack of the hit sound) or sometimes just one missile exploding right in your face.

Not if you are in my beloved Harasser Prime( I miss you darlin', come back to me). ;)

So this thread is pretty interesting, and I am with Dim.  Vets don't need to always switch teams, they could just lay off a bit.  I am one of those that uses the 'crap' 'Mechs.  Cheaphammer is one of my favorite mechs, period.  Harasser prime was a favorite too, now I am messing with that fireball though.  It was really fun joining a match last night with 5 mins left(on Frostbite mind you) and just bumrushing folks with it.  I got no kills, but I did cause 3 deaths by tying up a LRM Vulture. :)  Really though, to each his own.

@Invictus, I'll be your Leroy any time. :-* ;)  I do it with style though. :P

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

^isn't that the one that back flips with you fire the SSRMs?  I'm using them on the Bushy B and haven't any any problems.

Lol. Sorry, but I can't find other answers... They are:
1) Tent to explode INSIDE your mech, damaging it.
2) Are not willing to hit the enemy. Lagging forward or backward it. or just disappearing.
3) The worse ping and more players - worse problem.

I tried using Vulture B many times, tonns of other SSRM-equipped assets. Fail. IF they are not lagging - they annihilate anything. But usually they are.

One Vulture B was not able to kill or even deal heavy damage to my light mech because of this.

^They are not bugged to the point of damaging your asset.  First thing I tested when it came to these.

The other things are not that consistent, so I would say Streaks are a viable weapon still, regardless of the bugs. :)

Vets could always just shoot other vets...
I always target the known vets whenever I see them in a group. I'm assuming most of you do the same, considering the amount of attention I inevitably get in a group fight...

Well you don't know who the enemy is until you actually hit them with a shot.  I tend to spead damage out to help any buddies near me if there are multiple boggies :D

did you test the streaks on a full server?

i only use streaks for servers under 20 people, not sure what the magic number is but higher than that and i get missiles going off in the tube and getting slight damage (yellow) in the racks.

Lead the streaks just a bit, and most missing issues shall be gone.
Tend to use ssrms on any server, disregarding playercount and latencies.
If they dont hit first time, try a second time ^^
