What is your standard FPS?
« on: March 23, 2011, 01:38:18 PM »
All of the roflstomp threads lately have got me wondering, just what FPS does everyone play with in a average full server?

By average I mean with a decent amount of people in the same local battle on your mid range performing map.

Discount odd areas on some maps that give you 10 fps and massive furballs or 30-32 man servers on your worst map.

What are you used to playing with?  Don't give me what it could be if everything is on very low, tell me what you play with.

Open your console in game using the ~ button, then type r_displayinfo 1
the max, min, and average Fps will be in the info, reopen console and type r_displayinfo 0
when you're done.

Please type a reply and vote in the poll.

I'd say mine stays at a well rounded 50 on most maps. Some it dips, others its higher.

But, that being said, my PC was built to be nothing but a gaming machine so it's expected.

I have around avg 40 (15-60) fps with pretty much everything on minimum...
Got heavily overclocked gtx260 which is just enough to play properly ;) - I'll wait for the 28nm generation before upgrading my gfx again.. No point of doing so now.

I gave my old 260 to my mate, and he can run all medium some on high, DX10, no AA, 1920x1080. So your doing something horribly wrong if you have to play minium to get those FPS. And he doesn't use CCC either.

I can't seem to achieve anything over 25 most of the time. maybe a few spikes at 30, but its really strange.

If I can run BFBC2 on high, x8AA, x16AF, max texture, Vsync, DX11, etc. and get 25-35FPS, why in the world can I barely achieve 25FPS MWLL with all settings LOW, 0xAA, 0xAAF, Vsync off, Dx10.

I'm puzzled myself.

Hmmm that's a mystery, I assume you have latest GC drivers.

Make sure you have disabled Motionblur in CFG and changed phyics to a different thread.

sys_physics_CPU = 3 (If you have a duel core, set this to 1, quad core set it to 1/2/3 etc.
sys_physics = 1

Everything disabled via CCC except HDR/Bloom (which is needed on some maps, and doesn't really affect FPS), I get about 15-25 FPS on full servers on TC_DeathValley and Mirage (smoothest running maps). Kagoshima tops out at about 13fps.

40-50 on most maps, extremity seems to slow it down a little though.

Ahh the continuing mystery of why equivalent GPUs perform so drastically differently in MWLL.  I get about 30-40 with frequent dips into the 20s.  I played Warhead for a while yesterday and never get anything below 40fps and average up in the high 50s on the same settings.  I understand that multiplayer is likely to be more taxing but it's weird nonetheless.

I have those settings set already.

It just baffles me that I can go from maxed out settings on one game, and then ultimate of low settings on the next and it still can't keep up with the FPS of the first game.

It doesn't happen on any other games.

I understand Its probably the most taxing game out there, but even on lowest settings I think I should get at least a 30FPS average  ???

I think I'll make a thread about it. I won't be able to actually test out the settings though until April probably. The internets are officially gone from my house.

It's going to be something really simple and obvious but I can't put my finger on what. Well hope you get you net back asap.

I blame memory allocation and 32 bit OS. But yes, I'll have internets from the hotel and stuff, but as far as for using on the desktop, not gonna be likely until april :(

Well x64 os and running game in X64 does remove the memory from the possible problem. But if your unable to run the game very well even on all low settings, it's quite unlikly it's your ram. But anyway, I'll stop now, and post in new thread.

Oh and to get back on track, my fps on average is about 40-50, sometimes alot more sometimes alot less, depends what I'm looking at, and what map. Player count has zero effect on my FPS, however tons and tons of weapons going off, does effect my FPS slightly if I'm in the middle of it :D

I myself hover from 32-27 FPS, server size doesn't really effect me, and maps only minimally, oddly I don't go much above 35 often.
