GB-72AT vs Ghost Bear
« on: March 31, 2011, 05:58:38 PM »
Hail Warriors!

I am here to ask peoples opinions on my unit.  What do people think would push more interest. Keeping myself as the Ghost Bear's 72nd Assault Trinary, or should I just make it Clan Ghost Bear?  I have been trying to get this unit going since Jan, and though I have not pushed recruitment that much, I still only have 1 member. I have been thinking for a while that maybe I should just go and make GB, maybe it would generate more interest. Thoughts?

It's sometimes hard to get people on board and keep them on.  We might have 10 on the VR roster but only our core group (same 5-6) plays most matches since we don't hear from everyone.  But since we're a casual unit it was too be expected.

One of the best way to get recruitment up is to skirmish more.  There's plenty of units out there now so find a dance partner isn't too hard.

What's in a name?  I think most people can figure out that GB are ghost bears if they know their BT lore, other wise they probably don't even know what Ghost Bears are.

Clan ghost bear would maybe be more appealing, but whatever works for you bro.

Good luck with your recruitment.

i like GB-72AT

But only CGB or Just GB would be a nice tag, because it is a bit shorter and leaves more space for long names.

I know that this topic is "asbach" but... bla

The tag alone is not worth much. It is just one more in the pool of abbreviations that make me scratch my head every now and then because I don't know their meaning. From that point of view more complicated tags could even help a little bit because nobody can remember their meaning and people have to look them up on the corresponding recruitment page.
Success! I guess.

I know that I don't really have to say anything regarding this topic, but since it is public I thought I would waste a minute and give you my opinion.

Was wondering about the change, then I noticed how OLD this thread is.  I liked the old one, CGB is a bit blah, but I guess since the other Ghost Bear unit is not really in existence.  Cool, whatever.   :)

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

Representing the 72nd Assault Trinary is, IMHO, pretty cool.  CHH represents the rebuilt Gamma Galaxy of Clan Hell's Horses, not the entire clan.  It tends to give your unit a bit more specific history, which is always cool. :)

3 vs 7 Letters, in case of in-game-naming

CGB [Name] - has a clear advantage for any player with a long name. And we are the only representors of Clan Ghost Bear's in MWLL......

..but the 72ND Assault Trinary is really cool , yes ;)

..what's the matter with, how "old" a thread is? In that case the content is still actual.

Nothing really, just that the change is very recent and the thread is rather old, as in months and months.

I am, my no means, trying to tell you guys what to use as a tag.  Though the "GB-72AT" did have its own unique flair, without any of the =JHJH= or }djh{ nonsense that is so prevalent with clan/unit tags.

To each his own, I'd say.  But how long of a name will you guys tolerate?  I am not one to talk, most people say that they never see my name, just the }12thVR{ hanging off the back. And that is 8 digits, so I guess our tag is officially the biggest!!

YaY, we win at something. *poot* *poot* :P

adding the brackets(around the Player name) brings it down to 5, not 3.  Sorry to be such a stickler, shoot me in the face next time we meet.

All in favour of a simple but unique tag here, as far as tag goes =)
GB-72AT was a bit long but not bloated with weirdness.

I know there have been talk from people in ~SJ~ to change tag to [SJ] or something due to ~ meaning it write protects the profile, but there are ways around that and I think the flair and ease of recognizing the ~SJ~ symbol is worth quite a bit. Looks sexay besides so....
}12thVR{ is hurting my eyes (no offence, simple truth) with that size and the curly brackets. But looks is a rather subjective thing.

But, for actual name, there is some strength to being a unit in clan ghost bear instead of the whole, in that you run no risk of conflict with others wanting the same. On the other hand, why not claim it all when there is no one else around to bear the burden?

/Merf - No matter what you call yourselves you will be Clan Ghost Bear of MWLL...
