a little unofficial vid of the project i've been working on, some features aren't working and the hud is larger than it will be in the end. working on some form of an announcement soon- this is my little test area of the map- it's very large. enjoy the little teaser, and....it will be done when it's done :)

so an explanation: the first menu is for customization but atm there's no descriptions of any of the units since im still balancing them, i selected a sniper unit, an fy-71 unit and an smg unit. I tried to move my sniper unit up onto that ridge where the bad guys are standing very dumbly. i was trying to lure them down to the beach with my fy-71 then I was going to move my snipers up onto the ridge for fire support.....but they saw my smg guys and everything went to hell, I was going to move the smg guys in behind them and surround them..... but i still spanked em since im still doing much experimenting with balance

Looks sweet!

Having the AI go around and do random stuff around man-made scenery (like near the start of Crysis where you had to turn off the jammer and they were pissing and smoking and patroling the area) would get rid of that "standing around dumbly" effect

Is full physics enabled? Telling your guys to throw grenades into an occupied shack and watching it explode would be awesome
Another question, are your guys in nanosuits or just regular soldiers?

they can't throw nades yet by command- micromanaging on that level is very hard with the way gameplay goes, but maybe in the future. also there will be exploding objects and destructables just like in regular single player crysis since this is sp only

Looks pretty cool.

I'm starting to wonder, Mech Commander: Living Legends?  ;D

the idea has already crossed my mind, even something like this for MWLL where you go from first person mode up in the air to command around units, then back to the feild to kick some patooties just need that good old single player ai

We were discussing this just the other day on the webchat,

So are you thinking of a "Natural Selection" style commander position incorprated into the current game?  Where someone could build defenses etc. while everyone else plays as normal?

Or even better, someone who could co-ordinate teams, assign waypoints/targets and then players themselves could choose to carry them out not,

If....big if....if the MWLL devs gave you, let's say, the 3d models and animations for the mechs how hard would it be to make a MWLL:MechCommander? Because if you could you totally need to start discussions with them and get this shit on! Maybe join with MWLL? Section of the forums, idk...I'm sure the community would be behind you

Also, apparently AI doesn't work well (if at all) with mechs

Is it just AI opponents that won't work?

Because a multiplayer rts would be just as kick ass....but I understand that there is a certain amount of AI even when you are in control in an rts, so if it's that bad then nvm...

You could potentially use them by having separate controls for mech legs and mech torso (i.e. a mech is two "units").. tho that's just making it worse...

From the YouTube comments I understand that you don't intend to have 1st-person elements. It would be amazing to take control over 1 of your units... remember Dungeon Keeper, funny as hell to be one of your own minions. Still, fapping impressive what you present there, though.
