I wish I could say U/AC10's because I feel amazing popping people in the chest with 12+ rounds in a Loki, but then I find out that they're barely into yellow armor. The mechs with UAC10's are honestly the most fun to me, but it's like I'm shooting floppy dicks at a tank in hopes of it thinking I'm hurting it.

I have the most success with UAC20's usually though, but sometimes it makes me rage with its hit detection. I try to adapt and shoot in front of people(and watch the shell fly past them as it credits me with a hit) but sometimes it will just not play nice and refuses to give me any monies.

After that, probably Large Lasers.

UAC10's feel awesome to use, but yea, their bark far exceeds their bite.

Not enough people appreciate X-Pulse Lasers.  If everyone would give them a shot, I think they'd change their tune.

I figure most folks avoid them because they don't have the frame rate to get maximum effectiveness out of 'em. Anyone know what the minimum framerate requirement is before effectiveness is reduced?

That's been a concern of my friends when I try to get them to field X-Pulse too.  But the Large and Medium variety seem about on par with the regular Pulse Laser; I get very effective DPS out of them regardless of performance.  The Small Pulse is the one where it's problematic, I believe, because it fires very very rapidly.  They're solid enough on my computer where the 4 Large X-Pulse Awesome and the 1 LXP/2MXP/2 SSRM6 Bushwhacker are two of my favorite 'mechs in the game right now - they just deliver non-stop pain to a target as long as you hold the trigger down.

Of course, they're also second only to the UAC/2 for infantry killing.

I don't mind xpulses since I got my rig a new CPU.

I just don't like the time it takes to do any appreciable damage. I'd take standard pulse lasers over an xpulse any day, it's just much easier to get results with them.

PPCs
MRMs
XPLs (only the large one is really good right now though, imo)

Anyone who feels bad about the X-Pulse lasers needs to take the Awesome D out for a spin.  It's almost as painful and can dish out that pain with pin-point accuracy at 700m.

Beam Lasers. Reliable as a weapon can ever be. No lags, no hit detection problems (for the first several hours of game, at least). And easy to control.

SRMS. SSRMS, when the bug will be fixed. Great damage for ton, cockpit-shake. Remember reaping 2 Bushwackers in close with SSRMS on Vulture B.

UACs are just powerful, but not my favourite.
