Well, no. The 5770 is way slower. See http://www.anandtech.com/show/3809/nvidias-geforce-gtx-460-the-200-king/6 for Warhead numbers.

At the resolution he's running, though, the performance difference (especially in MWLL) is going to be negligible for the price difference.  Keep in mind, he's looking to spend ~$100, not $145+.  The 460 is definitely the better card, no doubt about that, but it's a matter of "bang for your buck".  If you're into overclocking, then go with the 768mb version for more core clock headroom.  Also bear in mind the power requirements - the 460 is going to need roughly 70w more juice per card.

Heh, I missed the part where he's running on a netbook screen :)

Better off saving up for a real monitor, let alone a video card. But yeah, 460s are fairly common to see under $100 lately, sometimes B-stock, sometimes with a rebate, but still..

Looks like the 5770 has jumped in price a bit.

Get a video card with no less than 1GB video RAM.

If your going to play MWLL, get the 1gb card, it makes a difference, expecially on a card like the 460.

At that res, your be able to max the graphic settings pretty easily lol. You might want to concider getting a new monitor, but for once, you need a new GC first :D

My monitor goes up to 1680xsomethingorother, but I usually play games at 1400x900 windowed/fullscreen.

A cheap $100 GPU would be buying a used (good) video card.

Stick with the 9800 GT, it is a good card.

I run a GTX570 and I have framerate issues on MWLL but none in even the regular version of warhead.

Don't upgrade until you can spend some good money on the card, IE save another hundred and 20 and get a card that will last you longer.

The 9800 GT is a good card, solid card, and plays the game almost as well as a premium card because of the issues.

Unless your 9800 GT only has 512 megs of ram.

I went from an 8800GT to a GTX570 and only saw marginal improvements on MWLL.
I hate Aircraft in this game, if I die from one, I leave.  I wish I could just fire back at them from a Mech.

Yeah I don't know.  I spent $1400 bucks on a new computer and I still can't play MWLL maxed out so I'm not a huge advocate for partial upgrades.  You may spend that $100 bucks and wonder what you got for it.  Now, if you play other games it might be worth it to you.  If this is an MWLL only purchase you should probably save up and do a computer overhaul.

It's the 512 version.
