I haven't been able to fulfil my space needs since Tachyon: The Fringe. Now, THAT, was a space game.

It wasn't bad, found it fairly generic, BUT it has Bruce Campbell :D  THIS IS MY BOOM STICK

Freespace 2 and Freelancer are THE space games.

Unless something drastic comes out, i cant see that changing in my lifetime. Sure, theres been GOOD space games, but none of them have pushed those two of the podium in my eyes.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

I had a demo of IW2 and it seemed pretty nice, but i never tried the full version
Freelancer to me was the game, I wish we would see another. Best was cutting the engines and letting zero gravity keep you flying through space as your maneuvering thrusters allowed you to track the target while still speeding in your original trajectory.
