16 PLAYER MAX!

Yes, you can play with 24-32 players, but the maps are not designed for it.  If you're having trouble spawing/performance issues, odds are that there are too many people on the server.

Edit: SA and LMS obviously.  You can still play TC and TSA as before.

Yes. I'm running The Bunker 0.5.0 Server and it's currently 24 players. Any players over 16 will be played in Spectator Mode. You can still spawn, but only between other people's deaths.

Ahh this explains why a number of us were wondering why we had obscenely long respawn times. I was figuring it was due to something along those lines.  I only had a few mins in game before I had to exit due to family.  But the download finished, I had to try it, right?

Of course they do.  This has no affect on the TC and TSA modes.

Of course they do.  This has no affect on the TC and TSA modes.

To further clarify:
 
The current Solaris Arena maps released with MWLL 0.5.0 were designed for a maximum of 16 players.  Maps: SA_Jungle, SA_Glory, SA_HelsGate
 
The mode itself does not impose a player count limitation, but with more than 16 players on these maps there will be occasions on which you cannot spawn due to the 'Mech hangar being occupied by another player and generally higher level of chaos on the battlefield due to the player density.
 
This player count suggestion is for the initial release maps, additional maps that will be produced by the MWLL team or by community members may have differing suggested player counts.  In the case of MWLL authored maps they will be accompanied by a suggested player count, I would suggest that community mappers also provide this information.

Thank you for the clarification however letting us know or at least the offical sever admins know to set this according to 16 players would have prevent alot of confusion and "this mod sucks" comments I read tonight in game chat.

I honestly recommend LMS to 8 players, 'regular' SA to 12. But thats just me. Since these small servers don't eat up much performance on the server I always suggest to run to two 8-10 slot servers instead of one 16+ slot server.

Then you should play TC or TSA and not a gamemode which is focused on small maps with less players.  ;)

A free for all with 24 or more players is not a typical BattleTech battle ;). I think the only canon case where something like that happens is the Grand Melee for the Bloodname contest.
