0.5.0 Performnce Drop?

So got to play lots of SA and then some TC.
Great job devs.
I was having some performance issues with the server running SA, though I attributed it to a ping of sometimes over 300 on one server.
Moved over to TLL Matchbox and had the same dismal performance.
I switched from high to medium settings overall saw no improvement.
I asked around and some said they had the same kind of performance drop.
I didn't have time to grab my fps info but I can say trying to fight was so frustrating I had to quit.
I just wanted to see how many had a significant performance drop?

I had worse performance in Solaris Arena then before.  Every few minutes it would freeze for a few seconds.  I think it might be because of all the fireworks and close quarters battles going on.  Haven't had the chance to test a normal TC or TSA game yet.

It's not that bad and the game looks way better for me.  I love actually being able to see my missiles fly out and hit my target.

If in doubt, please clear your shader cache and let them be rebuilt.

Same here.

Had solid 25 FPS in .4.x in all but the largest firefights (~20 on ThunderRift and Frostbite), with CCC level 3.
In .5.0 it dropped to around 10 FPS on average in noncombat situations. Lowered CCC to level 2 and now its playable with solid 20 FPS in combat, tough ThunderRift (and I guess Frostbite will be, too) is still unplayabe with 15 FPS out of combat.

Shader were deleted when I deleted 0.4.9 in preperations of .5
Never arm once what you could arm twice.

In Lyran Commonwealth, Atlas scouts you.

I can't get a clear answer where in the wars folder is the shader cache.

Sure it felt different but so did my wife after the kids were born. A little loose but it still gets me off every time. -- Suspect

Not quite as dramatic as a drop as others here, but there's definitely lower performance across the board. My FPS was in the low to mid 30's in 0.4.9, while dipping down occasionally to the low twenties in heavy firefights. Now it's averaging at that level, while dipping down to the teens in combat. Had to knock CCC from 4 to 3 to get things playable, after which it seemed alright. (Though I was in SA after the setting change, so that might not be an accurate assessment yet)

Could it be because people are overfilling SA servers? I read that those maps are smaller and designed for 16 players max, so if players are cramming more people in you're going to end up with a lot of stuff going on in a very small area relative to the other game modes which spread stuff out more.

But I haven't played yet so I'm honestly just guessing.

My fps has gone up significantly since the update; I run faster on the default, high settings than my 0.4.9 settings which had everything disabled / on ultra low.

This may be a numbers specific problem.
When I played TC Thunder Rift with 32 I was getting probably 15 fps at most.
Then played a little TC Marshes with 18 and had better fps.
Overall i had to go from high settings down to medium.
That graphics change is what bothers me.

Also is CCC for nvidia cards because I cant get wars to recognize the config.

Phenom 2 x2 550 @ 3.6 GHz
ATI Radeon 4870 1GB
4GB DDR2 800
Windows 7 64 bit

A game on Thunder Rift that I joined I couldn't even look at a firefight that was going on or my framerate would drop to a crawl.   Mirage and Marshes games that I played right afterwards was mostly smooth with a few second freeze every now and then. 

I'll try deleting my shaders cache and see if that helps.
