10 fps with HD 6950 1GB on CCC lvl 3 Rage

Well...
Time for a new computer...

GPU-Z says my GPU is running at 38% tops.
My CPU is always at 81%

Nitro, drop resolution way down like 1024x768 with low details, etc..see what happens

Here's a Recap:

1680x1050 CCC level 3 with reduced particles:
GPU Load: 38%
CPU Load: 81%
FPS stuttery around 10-29fps in heavy action, 60+fps for empty map

1024x768 All Low:
GPU Load: 0-1%
CPU Load: 60-67%
FPS always around 22-32fps and still stuttery
When loading building a mech in the mech bay, CPU load can jump to 100% (I think this is normal?)


System Specs Again:
E8400 Core2 Duo 3.0GHz (factory clock)
4GB DDR2 PC2-6400 (410.3MHz) 5-5-5-18
XFX HD6950 XXX OC Edition

I'm gonna guess that my slow RAM has something to do with it.

what rez are  you running.  I'm on 1400x900 (or whatever one that is)

I get much smoother game play at that rez then my monitor's native 1680x1050

I'm running 1680x1050 regularly.

try dropping the rez and see if it smooths anything out.

I had a member that could play 4.9 just fine, but 5.0 seemed to kill his system and was unplayable. After hours of trying to figure out what was what, he uninstalled mw:ll, delete crysis wars and delete the folders, reinstalled crysis wars and mw:ll and bam things work fine now. Don't know if this will help but ya never know?

everyone that flamed on my suggestion in the other thread probably will here too. upgrade to ddr3 ram, I had a similar bottlenecking experience- replaced every part of the system and finally new mb/ram was the answer- went from using very small amount of cpu & 70% of gpu to silky smoothness, and 99% gpu usage. hope that helps

Correct.  That's exactly why I recommended he do that, to make sure he had a bottleneck elsewhere.
