Actually guys, the PS/2 connection is superior from a connector standpoint. Especially when coupled with a mechanical keyboard.

Next to zero latency as there is no USB polling, and no ghosting of keys when several keys are pressed together. This is why top end motherboards still carry the PS/2 connector.

Bloat is bloat, and even if your turn it off, it's still there, just hidden.

You need tools like n/vlite or the customizable, embedded versions, of the OS to really remove a substantial amount of it.

I despised XP when it came out. It used twice as much ram and disk space as windows 2k, for no appreciable benefit. So, I went back to 2k until I the need for more than two CPU cores forced me to switch.

What you call bloat another calls a useful feature. Nit picking a few gigs HHD space or RAM is nonsense. Most of us here have so much RAM and HDD space in our machines that an OS using more than its previous version doesn't matter. Are there user cases where running absolute min is needed? I'm sure there are people out there.

However those people need to stop beating there elitist user behaviors and opinions on the everyday users. It's like a car fanatic that keeps his ride in top condition expecting everyone else to do as he does. Most people just want a car that works they dont want to put it up on a  dyno and tweak every drop of HP and torque that they can they just want to drive the car, and those people just want PCs that work. They don't give a shit about how much ram is being used by the new version. They are going to buy it anyway. Those people out number us, and their dollars talk louder, so they are designed to.

There's always Linux. Using windows is a choice.
