If you are running in a 32 bit environment there is a high risk of CTD since the consumption of memory is quite intensive in MWLL.

If wanted, do as -SM-SUCKER said, and use the debug dll's for your operating systems architecture, either the 32 or 64. Locate the bin32 or bin 64 in your MWLL root folder and rename the mwll.dll to mwll.dl_ and the mwll_debug.dll to mwll.dll, that way when you crash a report will be submitted.

okay i did the debug thing, and another issue that bugged me, is that BA dies trying to get inside the mech/vehicle. also, the aero crashing during take off and landing is just annoying. some issue with collision calculations?
anyway, really like the MWLL game, and i thank the guys working on it. you should get sponsored by a games company and make MWLL into a proper game like the mechwarrior franchise. a 20-mission single-player campaign would be so awesome!

How much ram do you have?
There comes a point where the talking must stop, and people have to do actual work.

I have locked up 2-3 times since 5.1 and don't recall that ever happening in the 4 series.

I also had this happen 1-2 times.  A complete freeze up instead of a crash.   Never happened to me before either.

I crash about 50% of the time and have to ctr-alt-del out and kill the process (so basically the debug dlls don't/wont be any use).  I find at lower settings (I thought it might be something to do with tryin to push my system to the limit but it crashes less on full resolution and high settings than it does otherwise ... but I get sub 25 fps on it.).

I have everything up to date and patched but it just seems completely random it will just freeze and I have to ctrl-alt-del out.

You've tried downloading a new set of DLL's? Its odd that you crash more on lower settings than on high.

i tried to DL a update of direct x from the MS download website (web installer).  here is my current version info from dxdiag:

Version: 8.17.12.6099
Date: 16 Oct 2010
WHQL: Yes
DDI Version: 10
Driver Model:  WDDM 1.1

When i run the web setup (updater), it says i already have a current version.

I am also crashing and freezing alot.  Framerates are especially horrible in the hangers at start of match, even if im out of the hanger (and its out of view) and going to the battlefield.  It just stutters 5-10 seconds at a time.

I will do ahead and make the changes for debug.

system specs are in my sig.  running at lvl 3 via CCC.
Specs:  2500k, 8GB ram, 120GB SSD w/ Win7x64, 640GB HDD for the rest, 2x HD6970 in CF, T260HD    LCD @ 1920x1200, Logitech G15, mx518, Wingman Extreme Digital 3D.

I can confirm the freezes, this started happening with 0.5.0.

The "classic" crashes are about the same or slightly reduced but now the game crashes more often reporting an access error into a dialog box (the kind of crashes that do *not* bring up the reporter tool).
