Thank You!
« on: June 12, 2011, 07:51:40 PM »
From the deepest recesses of my heart, Thank You to all who have put time in this endeavor and making this real.  I must say it takes a little bit of digging around to find it on the internet.  But once you set your eyes on this marvel, every other game out there has lost its luster!

Again, thank You!

Agreed as always!

See it is the digging on the web we need to fix.  This needs to get more public light.

We come up as the #4 result for "mechwarrior" on Google so I don't know what else we could do to improved organic results.

Commercials, or popups or banners on websites and forums.  But that requires money.  I actually found it through mektek forums.  Guess the saying is right, google is your friend.

Which is pretty good. Though I think you guys need to come up with an idea to attract people that wouldn't already be googling "mechwarrior" :D.

The attention you guys got for winning modding awards helped a lot. I wonder if you guys talked to any gaming publications (internet or printed) if they wouldn't be interested in doing a story on the mod? It's been done before, for far less impressive projects.

Just an idea. Won't know unless you ask, that much is for sure. :)

I actually did this. I tried to get us a small article in a german gaming magazine. The response was, that our game is "not technically mature enough" to be recommended to their readers.

There comes a point where the talking must stop, and people have to do actual work.

what does "not technically mature enough" mean? Is Cryengine 2 past it as far as they're concerned, or do they just think that MWLL is still too unfinished to be featured just yet?

I'm hoping that my local mag will review the game when 1.0 comes out. They've reviewed a bunch of other mods as full games, so I reckon MWLL deserves it.  :)

It also means, that the average gamer can't just jump in and go.  MWLL has a lot of technical requirements to get up and running, much of which is out of the Devs hands.  Like the whole, have to run Wars by itself to get the key in, EA/Steam key issues, etc.

Here's hoping that EA and Crytek make Crysis Wars free like Sierra did with FEAR.

Heh, I crash a hell of a lot less in MWLL than I do with many so called completed games.
