It also means, that the average gamer can't just jump in and go. MWLL has a lot of technical requirements to get up and running, much of which is out of the Devs hands. Like the whole, have to run Wars by itself to get the key in, EA/Steam key issues, etc.
In the grand scheme of things, MWLL is pretty damned easy to get up an running on if you have 1/2 a brain.
Sadly, this requirement is not always fulfilled.
But, assuming you already have Wars installed and patched (which isn't even necessary if you come from a Steam path) all that is required is to download our installer and let it do its thing. Where we are "now" versus a year ago at this time (anybody remember how much fun getting 0.2.0 distributed was? I do.) we are well ahead of the curve. We do get the occassional complaint about not providing a direct DL link for everyone, but we can't support a 4.5GB download for every player; as it is now we already use obscene amounts of bandwidth just for our internal development activities. Using a built-in torrent system is realistic and viable for 99% of the userbase on release dates, and the community seems to propogate the full package within a few days. We also can make a private direct DL available for those who can prove a hardship case.
