Super Map Necro!!!

Well I have finally gotten around to resuming work on Paradise Lost, and this next version will have a complete overhaul on the heightmap, textures, sky, layout, and more!

I am addressing multiple known (and unknown) issues in the current (old) version.
Issue: Airbase is too overpowered
Fix: VTOL bases will be added at deployments

Issue: AA bases are too overpowered
Fix: Reducing number of eagle eye turrets

Issue: Too many capture points
Fix: Reducing number of strategic points. I am seriously considering turning the remaining vehicle hangars that are spread throughout the map into uncapturable factories (like the center hangar in TSA Carbon). Lone Repair bays WILL become usable without capture.

Issue: G2 base (volcano) underused
Fix: adding an underwater base between the airbase and G2

Issue: being underwater is lame, makes easy targets for ASF
Fix: Did some serious work on the heightmap to make it varied and interesting underwater while retaining sandbars to make 'shortcuts' from island to island. This, with the addition of VTOLs and the revealed upcoming Epona should reduce the overpowered-ness of the ASF

I expect this to be done within the week so we can playtest it some more!

Ohh wow sounds like really great revisions and a wicked new Paradise is soon to be fall our eyes! Always like Paradise lost.  After a initial test we should schedule a event, open merc night TC on the map.  It is a big map, getting 12v12 should be easy and fun.

Also let me know what you guys think about the open factories idea.
Additionally, I'm looking for a new 'lore' background story for this map. Any ideas?

If sharks attack only BA  >  there will be an interesting restriction of actions Battle Armor in water  :)

Here you go! V0.7 This map is nearing completion!!!


I completely reworked the heightmap and gave it noise and landscaping through geocontrol. There are now  hills and valleys underwater.
AA bases have been removed. VTOL hangars have been given to each team at the start.
The number of capture points have been reduced to 6. Note that the two bases that appear to be controlled by the enemy at the start of the game are neutral bases! Anyone can purchase tanks and light/medium mechs there, but no one can spawn there.
There are various repair bays scattered throughout the map. anyone can repair there without capturing it.
The Airbase and the base in the bottom left of the map are worth two tickets each, the rest are worth one. An underwater factory has been added between the two major bases.
Beware of the sharks! It is unconfirmed if they will attack BA (vehicles are safe) but they WILL stalk you in a creepy way. Also they don't die.
The Clouds look real now.
The time of day has been reworked.
Some vegetation has been changed.
Note that the minimap displays height by brightness.
