It wouldn't be boring for the girl down the street.

And this is why I am a sellout.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

I actually played it a while ago on my 360 when my friend let me borrow the orange box, but I hated it and just ended up replaying portal for like a week

It's a lot funner now for some reason :-\

TF2 on the xbox blows IMO

Any how i jumped in a game yesterday (after not playing for a good 2 years) to see how imbalanced the new weapons are... I don't think they have a huge effect.  I was able to hit the top 3 scoring using my stock flame thrower and axtingisher (very early unlock from years ago) along with normal engi sentry work.

It plays just about how i remember with a few difference here and there.

I actually feel bad for the people who paid for this game.

I'd actually prefer to play the latest Need For Speed game over that pile of wank.

I got the Orange Box as a present. And after playing the Episodes and Portal, I wanted to try TF2. At first I did not like it. But after realising that it should not be taken seriously, I had some fun hours. And just the last few days, I started again. Because it is FUN.
And I run around mostly with stock weapons and I am still kicking ass.
But the amount of teamwork neccesary to win is great. As soon as you have no medic, but only engies and snipers on your team... well you loose.

I also got the orange box, back in the public beta. Out of all the games of the orange box, I only ever played TF2 :P

Bump, because I am not sure if it was mentioned:
With the release of free TeamFortress2 Valve also granted free access to anyone to the Source SDK tools. This means:

---> Everybody can play any source-mod for free as well! <---

And there are some really good ones out there:

Hidden Source
Insurgency
Resistance & Liberation
just to name my favorite ones.

With 200 steamfriends I can count on 1 hand the number of them that didn't already have access to source-based mods.  I mean it's a nice addition but it really doesn't add as much value to the overall community as you'd think.

TF2 is fun, and I'm still glad I bought it for $5 a couple years ago.

I don't spend cash in their stupid store, and I still have all the shiny hats and weapons I want, because it's not that hard to play to get the unlocks and craft the stuff you want.

And yea, the new weapons aren't that OP, the only thing Valve screwed up was the set based items that needed hats for the full effect, and even then, only the spy set is really any good.

I still run 'vanilla' loadouts on quite a few of my classes. Scout & Soldier (well, I did give him the little energy pistol recently because a  friend got me an unlock code for it from comic con, but I usually use the shotgun) for sure, and other classes I use the stock weapons + maybe one unlock, like the demoman, where I usually use the regular grenade launcher + the sticky launcher, but I use the caber for melee weapon choice because exploding and taking 3 people with you is awesome.

I still use mostly stock loadouts at LAN events.  The non-stock weapons are cool but most don't have the dependability that the original weapons have.
