MWLL Tools 0.10.701.185 released
« on: July 01, 2011, 02:43:10 AM »
The MWLL Tools update v0.10.701.185 has now been released. The update is huge, containing a lot of fixes, improvements and new features to the Auto Updater, Launcher and Actionmapper.

This is the first Tools package release which includes the MWLL Actionmapper by (TLL)CapperDeluxe, but certainly not the last - the Actionmapper will be distributed along with the rest of the Tools from now on.

Please note that there is a known bug in the Auto Updater which will cause it to incorrectly claim that an MWLL build with the version number 0.10.701.185 is available. The displayed text for this scenario is wrong. I wanted it to be clear that this is a bug, so that there are no confusions in the subject.

Below are the full release notes of the update.

Actionmapper
 - Cross-tab conflict detection added.
 - Missing actions from older actionmaps no longer require a new actionmaps to be created, instead it will be added automatically once user tries to bind the new action.
 - Added a label that shows up when modifications are made indicating the user must restart MWLL for changes to take effect.
 - Default actionmaps missing actions added back in.
 - Default actionmaps conflicts corrected (e.g. "c" key flushes coolant in Vehicle and no longer pitches up in Aero also).
 - Spectator actions no longer show conflicts with non-spectator actions if bound to the same key.
 - Added missing action for 'Target Nearest Friendly'.

Auto Updater
 - Fixed a bug that caused a number of users not to be able to start an update using the application, because it would crash right after pressing 'Yes' on the dialog asking whether you want to update. (Thanks Tyler alias CampingCaraboo and Aurailius!)
 - Fixed a bug that have caused many people to find themselves without a Launcher or Auto Updater after installing a full MWLL release (like 0.5.0).
 - The application now checks if you have enough free disk space to download and install an update instead of failing mid-process. A new option has been added to the settings window, allowing how much free space to be reserved on your partition to remain after an update is downloaded or installed. Defaults to 0 bytes.
 - The updates are now downloaded to C:\Users\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars\MWLL\Updates (under Windows 7) or C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Crysis Wars\MWLL\Updates (Windows XP).
 - New feature: torrent delegation. If enabled on the settings screen, the update torrent is automatically registered with a torrent client application (like uTorrent) on your computer when you close the Auto Updater.
 - New feature: auto shutdown when completed. If enabled, the computer is automatically shut down after a 30-second abortable countdown when the update finishes installing. No prompts will be displayed, and always the safest choices are assumed (when e.g. deciding whether to delete the old MWLL build after installing a new full release).

Beta Launcher
 - Improved Crysis Wars version detection (thanks to ~SJ~ Xarg for reporting the issue).
 - Merged the server configuration and levelrotation editor windows.
 - Added a button that allows the user to conveniently switch between the MWLL debug and release binaries (Enable/Disable Debug mode).
 - Added a new button which will delete the Crysis Wars shaders cache when clicked (Clear Shaders cache).
 - The "Force DirectX 9" option is now On by default.
 - Added a "welcome window" which is displayed when the Beta Launcher is started and no MWLL profiles were found. It contains information for new players as well as lets you create an MWLL profile easily. (Thanks Saber15 for suggesting)

Enjoy!

Just installed it, Thank you MWLL Team

Can't do it man. Folk with small SSDs wish to remind you that lumping crap on the C: drive is not a great idea. My SSD is closing in on 3/4 full already. C: Drive is an OS drive. This has to have a selection.

They are downloaded to a subfolder of your user profile, which doesn't have to be located on the C: drive if you're short on space there.

Those with SSD's should know how to handle that.  No big deal.  Most people don't have one.  Thanks for the Actionmapper fixes!

Many of these changes should go a long way towards making it easier for new members, great success!

That one button debug enable is a nice touch.

The "Force DirectX 9" option is now On by default.

mine wasn't after the update, it still defaults to unchecked, maybe this is only true for those with DX9 hardware only?

Thanks ShdNx and Capper. The autoupdater in particular is such a great addition to the mod.

I have a suggestion. Would it be possible to add something to the launcher that lets players easily create an autoexec.cfg with a few of the more widely used commands, like s_maxchannels - 128? Kind of like what you've done for the debug dlls.

Not hugely important but it'd just be another thing to help new players who don't want to mess around with config files in order to play the game at its best.  :)

No, it is a big deal. It forces it to the C drive. Not just for SSDs either. This cannot happen. There is no way to "Handle it". I can't just uninstall windows then DL it. Personally I hate when things are dropped in my C drive with no option. These DLs can be big. Even in this day in age, you cannot force people to DL several gigs of stuff onto a drive of your choosing. You simply don't know the state of every persons C drive.

This is great, enable debug, a few more options to the server launcher. Could we in a future update get more options for the server configure, like a map autodownload selection, for those wanting to test their map, and make it easy for others to join in the test?

Always good to see things getting goodies, and always appreciating hard work on free time! w00t w00t to (TLL)ShdNx!

I am sure if there are developers or large groups of users who run SSD's with little free space available they will make the change soon enough.  Is it not enough to simply move another large file or two to a spinning disk so there's room for the small update until a better resolution is found?
