My new rig!

I bought an Athlon 4000+, a new mobo, and 2 gb ram! When I get my 8800 in may, can I expect to play crysis on High- very high at lower resolutions?

Actually, I've noticed with my 3.2 P4/8800 that res isn't as bad for frame rate as detail level. CPU has trouble feeding the video card. Oh well.

fair to say, but it does run crysis at 15fps or so and world in conflict at 18 at max res so I can deal with it.

your system shoud be able to handle 25-30fps on all medium and 1024. be sure to jump over to http://www.crymod.com for some custom tweaked performance settings because some guys have tweaked their settings to almost look lik dx10 on some farily dated machines...not saying yours is dated just that im sure it can do fairly well.

Cool, Just awaiting my 8800 in April or so.. But the Pentium 4 and an 8800 doesn't mix well with crysis :D

Hrm, my P4 3.6 + 8800GT let me play Crysis all the way through.  Only during the very latter part did I have to turn things down to keep it playable.

The faster video card lets you run a high resolution, the fast cpu allows you to run a high detail (gotta feed the video card polys to render).

Not sure, what video card do you have now? Also, if you're wanting to drop cash on the 8800, I'd wait about a month for the 9-series to come out and either get one of those or get the 8800's cheaper.
