C-Bill sharing poll
« on: July 17, 2011, 01:20:15 PM »
Many voices have been heard discussing this topic. I do not want to discuss it any further in this thread.
This thread should just show the community where it stands.
Please, do not discuss whether sharing is good or bad.
If you think I missed something in the poll, let me know.

I voted no sharing at all but:

- Repairs and ammo should be free if the player has no funds left.
- Money gains should be inversely proportional to rank in order to help late joiners and newbs.

I find it hard to vote since I don't normally share with anyone not in the same TS channel as me.
Generally I prefer to make my own money... I will help out with ammo if asked nicely.

I'll give as much as possible to a teammate on TS if they ask and I do not need it.
I rarely ask for money myself (usually only for ammo if I hit rank 2 and need AC ammo for my Holly etc, and only I ask people on TS).

I'm not sure what I should vote... I cannot vote no since sharing can be good for ammo.
So I guess I will vote for small amounts of sharing.  8)

I voted 20-40k

Usually when I'm in lights I save up...

Once I unlock the Scats/heavy lights (heavier lights? :o) at spawn rank I'll share with players needing a hand or players I know that will expand exponentially on my gift....and it's usually the last little 'hump' in between lights and the more expensive mediums that is the most trouble for me, so I always appreciate a hand out to bump me into mediums...so I try to do the same...

Once I get into mediums I'm good....either too rank up fast or just bank up ridiculous amounts and give it away...heavies are meh, I like 'em sometimes but I definitely prefer the medium bracket...

It is hilarious giving a clan bro 130k when they ask for 5k....sometimes a lucky random pubber

There is a point though were I don't given anything out  (unless it's a CJW) because I need every penny if I'm still in a medium to buy something bigger if I get tore up by something....at a certain point mediums aren't always viable, and you need something bigger. But you can push it awhile with a healthy reserve....

Expecting understanding and empathy on the internet (especially in Toast [especially by Bill]) = fail.

And I say hey hey hey....I said hey, what's goin' on And I say hey.... hey....I said hey, what's goin' on

I give most of my spare cash to a bank or one of my friends / dump it all on a new guy who just spawned .

Depends, if the game has a banker I tend to give him my winnings, so I don't loose `em if I die. If I'm set in one of my Favourites (Scat prime, Vulture, Atlas, Madcat, Catapult) I tend to hand out cash. I keep an amount back for repairs and ammo, but if you are sitting in an Atlas and you'll have 120+ left, what point is there not to give it too those needing it. And friends and aquaintances (people I have played several times with) do get priority about money.

I have been given donations in the past, especially when showing up late in the game and I think its only social to give back. It's part of what I like about the Community, they are not stingy with the money and not: "MINE! MINE! MINE!" A refreshing change. Also if somebody asks it for a special role like an AA tank or a Longtom then I tend to give out money easier, since the people playing those roles are usually not the kind that asks 20k and dies a minute later. Yep I want some return of investment.  ;)

I have nothing against banking as long as it is not about "Send money, suicide, get a mech", resulting in heavies right from the start. Or some other bad ways.

For the guys on TS ? Every last penny if need be.
For all others ? Proficiency for my cash, nothing for perma-diers.

I try to do the same as well whenever I can. One match on sandblasted the other night my team had lots of narcs going so I bought an arrow huit early on and racked up around 8ish kills with it. All the while there was a newbie on our team constantly asking questions, which I was more than happy to answer. I even gave him a fair amount of money so he could play in something heavier than a light, which he spent on a mk2 prime which he eventually lost, so we both bought shadowcat primes and fought using those for a while before he disconnected later on.

I'm more than happy to give away my cash if asked. Usually noone asks and I'm stuck with 300k or so sitting around.

Like a lot of people I stick with mediums and cheaper heavies and accumulate money quite rapidly mid to late game.

I'm more than happy to spring out a few k here and there for ammo or repairs to anyone up to 20k or so for a small upgrade in mech. I'm always willing to donate huge amounts to  unit buddies  (fat lot of good it does sometimes though :D, most are probably 5 minutes from going crit somewhere), I don't discriminate though, unless you're clearly being a douche.

Recently I never put money in the bank, if there is one. However, my "sharing habits" differ a lot, it's just situational. For instance, when I am low on rank, but want a specific, more expensive mech, I often hoard the money myself and try to stay alive in my current mech. Whereas when my rank is sufficiently high enough, or when I have my desired mech and make tons of money, I often give all the money to lower rank players, to hopefully push them up in usefulness ;). Or I share all to a specific player, if asked.

Interesting. I thought there were more people giving more/nothing. But the middle seems to be the way of the (current) majority.
And I clearly should use TS. Seems like you get more money this way :D
Keep on voting, please. 47 is not very representative.

This dude knows the truth.

Though I don't like to share too much outside of that unless it's for ammo/repairs and all that.

Unless someone's been stuck in a light mech for the last 35 minutes or something.

One option seems to be missing: After having played a lot of games, everybody knows some of the players, who really make the best out of the money you give them. When somebody enters a game and shouts "Need money please!" or "Need 80k!" and i have never seen him before...he is going to get nothing. When some good player joins my team, i might grant him everything i have, he doesn't even have to ask for it. Not only will he be of some help to the team, as a good player he also does not deserve to be crushed by MKIIs in his light of choice.

So: "The better players get everything they ask for, the not so proven ones get their ammo-money. If they are polite."
