Any old kali/Kahn MW2 players about here?
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:12:33 AM »
My guess is probably yes :)

Anyway thought I would introduce myself/ maybe find some old players/lancemates.

I used to go by [SJ]Dode or -=DocDeth=- way back when in 95/96/97, played thru MW2 Ghost bear and Mercs, and ran I believe one of, if not the first Smoke Jag clan/lances playing on Kali and eventually Kahn.

Some of the other guys of the lance were Zilla, Zaxcat, Pumar, and Desert Fox.

Anyways I mentioned in a post earlier, got bored and for whatever reason felt nostalgic and started looking for some mecha game info and ended up here.

Only been playing a few days but man have to say this sofar is one hell of a mod!

Anyways if you around during those old days sound off! :)

Haha, that's always fun. I never played online, though. I did play NetMech with my sister/friends over LAN, but that's about it.

I only played over activisions servers for netmech enhanced (battlepack edition) and basic mercnet.  I did however play these almost nightly for at least 3 or 4 years, until mercnet started to really die out and activision started closing down servers :(

Yep. Old Kali / Grand Council player here. Khan of FireMandril for a while.

I think there is a whole thread devoted to the same over in the pub?

[raises hand]

I started my online adventure back in the days of Kali DOS playing in the leagues of the time. Was a member of the RFR. Played a short stint on MercNet on a couple of ladders but settled back into the comfort of the Grand Council league (running netmech/kali95). Spent quite a long time there fighting for honor and glory for clan Hell's Horses and clan Coyote. It sure was a blast to play a C4 NR game in Alshain... DFAs galore & high powered Hammers walking around with dual UAC5, 8 MGs, 1 splas, twin lrm15s... fun!

Quite a few of the old timers are still lingering around here, playing LL with the same gusto as the olden days :)

I hope you mean Crysis Warhead not Crysis 2...

Thief gameplay + Doom3 engine = The Dark Mod
