Fantastic improvements.  It's really getting there.  I think just a few visual  things might seal the deal.  Perhaps a road or two running the length of the map.  Overall it's a great map.

Snyp3r I suggest you re-render that minimap with sunlight coming from the northwest. The way it is now, it fools they eye into believing that a hill is actually a depression and vice versa.

With lightning from the upper left (only for the map) it would be easer to make efficient use of the minimap.

This is a really good suggestion.  I thought that there was a plateau in the northeast corner of the map because of how it looked on the minimap.  Turns out that isn't elevation, it's a depression. =/

Yep, this is implemented as of v0.3. The new minimap is linked in the original post.

On an unrelated note, you may still see some floating grass effects in this version. This is caused by terrain level of detail decreasing with distance, and so as the terrain loses polycount, some of the grass will appear to be slightly floating above it. It's not as common or easy to notice as the previous sprite grass issues, but there's really nothing I can do about it this time.

the map looks great, but....the only thing that i dont like is this ugly sandstorm...it doesnt fit with this beatifull map...can you make "normal" fog or even rain if it s necessary to obstruct the view a bit?

Im gonna necro this one, as Northwind is one of the better maps out there and needs to be on server rotations. I loved this map when it was out, only really had problems with the dropship collision detection issues.

What BETA version is the map created from, the map was last updated 08/09/2011 so I assume BETA 0.5.1?

I do not see it logical to add a map with outdated content.

BTW It would be a good idea for community mappers to add the BETA Revision/Version to the info on the mwllmaps.com ::)
