It needs optimization, yes, but I think that effort would be worth it. UJ is a wonderfully unique map that moves at a pace entirely different from everything else I've played so far. I like urban missions in general in MW games, and the hair-raising feeling of operating in an environment packed full of blind corners and deep shadows that could all be concealing ambushes is a ton of fun.
It's one of the rare maps where mobility totally outclasses firepower, and renders a lot of the usual I-Win-Button mechs ineffective (Ncats, Madcats, etc. Scat is still good, though) simply by denying them the long, open fire lanes the devs seems obsessed with including on every map. The environments are varied up just enough that it's not a constant slog through high-urban buildup, but at the same time moving through the city is necessary in order to win.
I like that it highlights different mechs than most maps -the Warhammer Prime, for example, is already a good machine, but it's absolutely ferocious on UJ, especially at night when that enormous search light actually becomes useful (and flicking it on and off rapidly is a VERY good way to disorient your opponent and get him to run into walls). This relative flattening of the power curve between machines makes for games that pace much differently than other games.
