Is this true?
« on: February 01, 2008, 04:42:43 AM »
I was in another forum discussing the MOTY winners.  One of the posters makes a crack at being glad that the MWLL mod didn't get first due to the leader in charge.  I posted "Why is this?"

This was his response (apparently he is on the JP mod team):

Personally I know about bias and I just want to know if he was totally pulling shit out of his ass for the sake of mod competition, or if there is validity in his statements:

Quote
No.. he definitely can't handle my mod existing.
I question whether or not he is smashing his keyboard over MOTY results.

He isn't professional. The reason I dislike him is his quite obsessively immature attacks toward me just because we had more votes in MOTY. When I said he is arrogant.. I'll elaborate. He claims superiority over everyone else. Insulting anyone he believes is below him; Most notably me, my team, and our mod.
He constantly has little minions and of course mostly himself, try to trash our project just because we garnered more attention than he did. I never insulted him or MWLL to begin with. It started with him trying to say our content for our mod was stolen, which was just an obvious attempt to hurt our reputation in order to help their mod. When I was trying to figure out who was behind these accusations, it led to the mod leader of Mech Warrior. He admitted to it. I wasn't nasty to him when I discovered this... and I promise you that I was trying to make mends with him. I was very much interested in finding out why he was upset with me, and making a friendship, cause I don't like feuds. Well, he just continued to bash the shit out of me.
When I asked if he was jealous about something, he responded by comparing pictures of our mod to his; implying that he felt superior and he furthered this with laughter suggesting our mod was complete junk. And all this time I didn't do one thing wrong or nasty to him. This was his own immature and stuck up behavior. He was as stuck up as a filthy rich prep who's parents pay for everything.

ModDB had to disable updating feature for ModDB because the same guy, Sean Tracey aka mod leader of Mech Warrior... spent literally 24 hours straight constantly re-updating his profile every 60-120 seconds just to remain at the top of the list. The list by default will show the last updated mod.

He tries to inflate his rating at Crymod.com too. Recently new mods kicked him out of first place, but he'll cheat his way back up again.

He has no life, and obviously loads of time. I need not say anything else, that's enough actions from him to prove it.
If you think I'm making this up, then talk to me in PM.

Look, I don't always do thinks that people agree with. Sometimes I can be an asshole, but were all human and act stupid sometimes. Sean Tracey though, is over board. He is like O.C.D., Psychotic. Would you rather deceptive and disappointing ZP win? Or deceptive, cheating, arrogant prick Sean Tracey and his Mech mod?
Hence my statement "I'd rather ZP be the winner than Mech mod." Of course we could have always been the winner, but as the leader of JP... It is not my place to judge my own project in that manner because obviously I'd hold a bias.

Despite my evil, angry, and creepy looking avatar. It does not reflect my current mood whilst typing this message.
I can see people saying "calm down", when I am calm, just because their sub-conscious mind is attaching my message to my avatar.
I tried to be informative in this post and not just purely bash Sean Tracey. I apologize if it does come off as bashing; It's hard to write objectively about someone who is... so stuck up that you have a brain fapp because the person is so ridiculous, you are having trouble believing it is actually reality... that someone is actually this pathetic.

Yes, this is true. Our mod leader is a fool, and because of how foolish he is we're in alpha stage of testing things out for mwll.

Sounds like this guy is stuck on fact that everyone is against him  :I

How i play this is it just for making it or playing and making it

This team exists since late 2006/early 2007 and has since been growing bigger constantly. Would this be possible if one of two project leads would be anywhere as annoying/bad/foolish/anti-social/stuck up/whatever as he's being described? Would the team's productivity be as it is if this was the case? Would obviously talented artists, modelers, animators, texturers, composers waste their time working with such a project lead in their free time for no compensation at all if this was the case?
How realistic is it that someone manages to hide their "true, evil" personality for more than a year from people who spend several hours a day in the same teamspeak channel as him, several days a week, several days a month?

Other than that, I refuse to comment on these claims any further.

Crytek has declared us worthy of their support and receiving the pre-SDK. Microsoft has declared us worthy of working with their Intellectual Property, the Battletech Universe. MechWarrior fans have declared us worthy of their support, by subscribing to our newsletter, by watching the mod on ModDB, by commenting and participating on this forum and commenting our posts on other forums. Large Crysis community sites as well as general gaming sites support us by posting and featuring our newsletter content and other news. We have arrived at a point where we see our idea come to life (of which the public will see at least a glimpse in the next newsletter). We're sure that people will love playing this mod.
That is what matters to the team. That is what keeps us going.

How eloquent.  I just love Net drama.  ::)

The entire MWLL team has shown nothing but professionalism in their dealings with us, the users here on their site.  I seriously doubt that if this gentleman's description were accurate that it would not come out here as well.

That's exactly what I was thinking.  He's pretty much saying how the lead dev for MWLL was doing things against other mods for Crysis in order to gain more publicity for the mod.

I realize the team is great and all, but actions against other mods and other dirty-handed tricks don't really have much to do with the great team behind the project, in addition to apparently the MWLL dev leader giving the JP leader crap for getting more votes according to him.

That is if any of this is true.

You would have to ask Crim himself, but I doubt he will wan't to comment on it.  Lets just say JP got a little upset once when we said that they should actually get permission from universal..
We've pretty much dropped the whole anti JP thing (publicly anyway.  We don't go on other forums and spread lies.)  I find it funny that JP keeps bringing it up like their trying to spread bad rumors.  Oh well, honestly we will let out work show for ourselves and you can compare.

^ what he said  ;)

i personally don't like bashing of any sort. and since i don't see Crim doing this sort of thing publicly (like this dude is doing), i'm more inclined to call him some nasty names...

and besides, actions always speak louder than words anyway  ;).

I dont mind bashing, lol.  :o

Seriously, I have absolutely no idea what that is all about. I am far too old to listen to rumors from strangers that I cant even shake hands with. After reading that guys rant, my impression is that he is a jerk. Gut instinct I guess, nothing more.

My partner and I joined this team because the caliber of the work we have seen. So far, EVERYONE in this community has been very professional, and very polite. Thats in print and on teamspeak.  8)

People will often try to slow you down, or get you angry so you make mistakes. Put them in the rear view mirror, and don't look back. Even if there screaming your name, just head for the finish line and don't turn around.

In all honesty, there's been plenty of people who have tried to subdue us from the start. And the only reason for it is jealously. I'm actually glad he's giving us more attention since it's just drawing more people into our mod to actually see what's going on. I'm inclined to thank him for all of this attention and continue self defense posts when we have done nothing :D.

I can't say for sure that this is untrue, but based on the month I've known Crim, I can honestly say I can't see him doing something like that. As has already been said, the fact that we've got a 30+ member team, plus the schedule we're operating on, to me would indicate good leadership. A good leader generally does not pop off at others.

I'm, personally, glad for JP. I think any mod doing that well is great, and especially being a mod based on the CryEngine 2 engine. I don't know how far along they might actually be, but I've only seen a few assets on the CryMod forum and they're pretty not bad. I haven't seen any in game footage yet, so I, personally, reserve judgement on how good the JP mod actually is. We're already driving some of our vehicles around in the engine and playing with them, so I do know how far along we are. I also find it odd that when I do post technical questions on CryMod that I don't generally get replys but I do get alot of page views. This to me says that we're doing stuff that nobody's tried. Most of the stuff I see about the JP mod are in the WIP Assets section, which to me indicates that there's not that much done. I'm not saying that's how it is, just that's the impession that I get.
