because no, nobody could have made improvements/break throughs in the space of 4 years . .
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

I'm skeptic about this.
It's an interesting technology, but it's remained in that state (interesting, but not really applicable) for years.
And since the company is trying to sell their SDKs, that are apparently coming out soon, the vid just shows the good bits, without mentioning any shortcomings, problems or even hardware requirements.
It's great that they have a build that runs at 25FPS (which we only have their word for btw, might be rendered out at 0,2FPS), but on what hardware?
The few shots from a farther distance also show that their island is composed of only a few "blocks" which are repeated over and over again, which definitely saves memory, but isn't exactly perfect for video games.

I'll wait and see, but I have serious doubts that this will suddenly change computer graphics as we know them.

Whether or not those are really only instantiations or actual copies remains to be seen.

even if it were perfection incarnate allready, it'd still take years untill the first games utilizing it were released . .

... how the fapp could any of you be skeptical?

It's happening right in front of you. Just sit back and let the programmers decide if your going to be playing MW:3015 on it or not.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

I can see the drawbacks in the video and what they're not telling us, but I also think polygon based games are reaching a peak that'll be hard to overcome.  Any commitment to a new system of game/level design that shies away from the typical polygon quotas will help discover the newest best way of creating games.

In other words, they may not have any groundbreaking stuff now, but once they release this new rendering process, hopefully some companies will work with it to work around the limitations.

I fully believe there are ways to render games that provide better detail without overly taxing a system.

grr i still have some faith, a bit, not much, almost no faith in the modern videogame industry, but hey, with the "perfect graphix" we wont be plagued by tech demo games! on a counterpoint, Crysis was a good techdemo game... :o
