Sure it felt different but so did my wife after the kids were born. A little loose but it still gets me off every time. -- Suspect

Looks like shit because they are coders, not artists mostly.
And the natural rocks and leaves they have in there don't look anything different than they usually do.
The difference between realistic and nice graphics are the more vibrant colours in artificial images.
Reality IS bland . .

Thats the original posting of the 7 minute demo video, what I linked was a follow up to that video with a 40 minute long interview because so many people are calling shens......this is the newest and most comprehensive info on the topic period.

Yes, that is what I meant with "the original (new) video" (that the interview is referring to).

The original 7 minute long demo video is right there in context on the page I linked to though so it seems confusing to refer to the video as "new" when its actually redundant.  But whatever.  I just didn't understand why the other thread was pointed out.  It adds nothing to the discussion.  Sorry, I'm probably overthinking this.  It was perceived as a distraction.

unlimited detail....
but it still looks like shit.

3D Polygons looked much worse when they were introduces, far worse then SNES Sprites.

FF6 vs FF7's Popeye arms comes to mind.

Was FF7 the one with the widespread demo disc for the PS2, where the ocean rose up and shot water at people, and the guy that looked like a French revolution-era noble crossed with Mr. Smith from the Matrix, and the guy who threw soccerballs at people, and the woman with the dress made out of belts and a violent teddy bear, and the guy with the spiky hair and sword that was illogically large?

If so, yeah, I remember what you're talking about.  If not, I must have faulty memory, because that demo is the only FF I have ever played.

The interviewer is John Gatt, who works in brand awareness, marketing and promotion. Make up your own minds there, folks.

It's just the same shit rehashed answering none of the major concerns that people have about the tech and no one out side their team has even had chance to see it running real time anyway.
