Holy shit, they gave a shout-out to Batman Doom! That mod was the shit when it was released! Might have to see if the Zdoom community is still alive and kicking...

But yeah, cool-beans on MWLL getting more publicity. Hopefully there's be a push for more when it gets closer to 1.0, though I of course realize that's a long ways off.
Finalizer! Has anyone ever told you that your the bomb diggity diggity?  :o

As the quote goes, There's no such thing as bad publicity.

Great find
You have to understand the code of duty and honor that rules those who pilot these engines of destruction. Placing such an awesome weapon in the hands of an individual implies a similar gesture of trust

Hey, I didn't find this place until 2 weeks ago.  I had all but given up hope.. had been following Smith and Tinker for quite some time hoping against hope they would live up to the hype... but it never panned out.

You have to understand, most of the mechwarrior sites out there are role playing based games or something along those lines, so I didn't pay much attention to any mecha news out there.  Either it was dated mektek still trying to keep mechwarrior 4 alive, or it was something basically sheet based or role play based.  It didn't even occur to me to look for anything like this... and most of the mwll gets hidden in the mass of Crysis Wars information, so you don't typically find it stand alone.

Very cool. Hopefully that will lead some more wayward Battletech fans in.

I know I've been pimping the game mod game to everyone I know who has a machine with the guts to run it. WTB bigger community!

And while I don't remember how I first found MWLL (was a while ago... pre-Beta I think), I do recall stumbling into it quite by accident, in one of those places that no intentional search is ever going to find, try as Google might. So it's good to see it get a bit of recognition out in the wild.
If you get killed, try to scream a lot. That way I'll know I'm on my own.

A Note:
There's a difference between constructive feedback and positive feedback. I will attempt the former, but until and unless there is a rule instituted that requires all feedback to be positive, I'm under no obligation to be nice. If you do something that sucks, I will tell you it sucks, and why, and mincing words or stroking egos over it only slows us both down.

They put the flashlight mod for Doom3 in there, and somehow missed The Dark Mod? How the hell does that even happen? That'd be like skipping MWLL for a mod that lets you dual wield SMG's in Crysis  ::)

Thief gameplay + Doom3 engine = The Dark Mod

Well as soon as you look at ingame footage it doesn't look that awesome any more ;-)
There comes a point where the talking must stop, and people have to do actual work.

Hehe, well I watched the video on Steam and yes, it's a bit of a let down, visually. But I am still interested ;)

Dino D-day is garbage, if I'm honest. Free mods for HL2 look and play better than it, and everyone stacks the German side because they have all the dinosaurs, while the Allied side just has a single, terribad dinosaur to play as.

"Concentrate on the moment, each moment is its own reality. It has a particular thisness. You can't predict, but you can explain. Or try. If you are observant, and lucky, you can say, this is why this is happening! It's very interesting!"

They had a free Dino D-day weekend on Steam a couple weeks ago, and despite really looking forward to the game, actually playing it was a bit disappointing.

That said, it was fun to play during that time, as it doesn't take itself seriously and offers a fun distraction to shooting at persons in most every other FPS. But it is regretful that one side gets the majority of dinosaur units. I wanted to play as dinos, not Generic-Source-Based-Shooter vs dinos.

I would still play it, if it was free. But I certainly wouldn't pay for it. Especially with the amount of other higher-polished, free mods out there.

i wouldn't worry too much about the community, it ebb and flows with the releases.  We max about 60 people a night, which is actually 20 more than what we had pre 0.5.0.

When 0.6.0 or the next major release comes out you'll see the max numbers jump up into the 120 for a while.

I am amased there are still MW fans out there that don't know about MWLL.

I spent most of my teenage years and college life playing Battle Tech MUX's, ate up all the MechWarrior games (speaking of which anyone remember that RTS-style top-down strategy mech game?), and I just found MWLL last week AND just registered on the forums today:P

Now to find a good House Liao Avatar....
