Owens C vs. Owens B should easily go to the C.  Blow the "ears" (SSRM pods) off of the Owens B if you are really having trouble, but you should be able to just core through a side torso very easily.  The Owens B has much less ability to spread damage while keeping DPS at max because of the weapons it carries.

I think the B is better suited to a support role, shaking the cockpit of the victim while the heavier mechs take and dish out the main damage.  An excellent illustration is in this video I was found yesterday whilst lurking on the 12th Vegan Rangers website  ::) http://youtu.be/jfF54s_DMnk

Skip to about 11 minutes for the bit I'm talking about although it's an entertaining video.

I usually prefer the Owens B as well, due to BHP, Cockpit Shake and decent damage. Of course in a situation where an Owens C, or other fast enemies, encircle you, I have a hard time doing anything of significance.

If the harassers only had a bit more armor I would always take them over the Owens because they're so much funner to drive.  ;D

I'd use the Harasser if it had the same armor as an Owens; it's much easier to hit than an Owens, since the "Front" hitbox is like 50% of the total vehicle. If you shoot the front half of the sides, it does damage to the front.

You're never going to be able to justify translating 1.5 tons into 7 tons. :P

Yet still, the hitboxes and size of the thing are pretty unforgiving, though they do have a bit more firepower and much more electronics than their canon counterparts.

Ownes C if you are good with lasers, Owens B if you are not.

They are pretty close in quality.
I hate Aircraft in this game, if I die from one, I leave.  I wish I could just fire back at them from a Mech.

The Owens B has about 33% more dps, but is ammo dependent, and not as accurate (if you can aim lazors well) while also having the lower range.

So yeah, this is in favor of the C IMHO.

I'd like the B to be upgraded to SRM6s instead of the SSRMs. That way it would deal almost 50% more damage then the C, and be better suited to act as a starting asset meant for hunting bigger prey. (Similar role to the MRM Raven)

I prefer the B, but that is just because I am old and my hand shakes with I try to fire lasers.

I like the B better when used as a coordinated swarm. 3 or more Owens Bs working together can shake-lock anything and kill it very quickly.  But for all other instances, the C is better.

The Harasser Prime is better than the Owens C if you're playing the role of fire support. The 360 turret and tons of ammo lets you stay in the field and shoot from safer angles.
Much harder to use mind you, but the score modifiers promise faster ranking if you can do it right.

B because it gives me pre 0.3 feeling of love. That thing used to be my king of the battlefield mech when i wasnt busy legging lights in one hit with the Mad Dog A.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Kind of interesting, really. For the longest time the Owens B was the starter mech. The C was extremely uncommon, and didn't take over until the price fell just a tiny bit - into the rank 1 bracket. Similar stories for other mechs. The Uller A jumped a tad over the rank 1 threshold and went from ubiquitous to very rare, the Uller prime dropped down and now it's...well, at least not totally unheard of. Gone also are the swarms of Puma and Cougar As. Goes to show how sharp that first rank dividing line is...

Personally I tend to prefer less common mechs, just for fun. So right now...B variant, usually.
