I still have my Game Gear...although it needs a new power socket soldered into it. Or, you could waste your money on oodles of AA batteries.
That said, I have a USB power adapter for the PSP I use when I play Wipeout: Pulse at work; I have rarely used it on the battery, but I remember it lasting for more like 8 hours of gameplay.
