The cockpit section gets cut out later and dropped in like this one

The canopy on this one comes off so you can see the seat etc

Thanks Merf, its my most ambitious project yet, i mass produced 3 madcats, and a pair each of victors blackknights and Lokis.
This is my first build of 4 of a kind, which is a tedious process, 8 feet 12 toes to be made etc etc.

Still...... i lay awake just last night thinking of what skins i will use.

Two shades of blue with white highlights is on the cards

And a desert scheme suits it too

Working in hip assemblys ATM, 16 parts all up, hard to get them uniform, so there are rejects on top of the final 16.

But when all 4 are done and painted, it should be an impressive set of pics i will have to share with you all.

At this stage of the game i'll replace the pod arms with CBT cannons, and the toes will likely be CBT with two joints instead of the MW4 single toe version as seen above

Upper leg assemblys forming up, and an example of a possible toe assembly

The toes and missile tubes are done, this varient is getting 6 SRM6's.
Very slow build, but the more in the build the longer it takes, if this had been one, it would be close to finished.
But with multiple builds there is lots of boring stuff to do, like making the same tiny part over and over and over
The front toes being the example.

Thanks Mate, the first one "found its feet" today, im really excited, it looks great if i do say so myself and the rest should be identical

As mentioned these will be getting the CBT tubular cannon arms not the mw4 pods, still a long way to go, ive always maintained the build is half the job, the detailing another half. it takes as long to apply the fine details as it to do the basic builds.
Still seeing the first one on its feet so to speak is really exciting.

I could use some advice about now.
I was looking at the artwork, and have remodeled the mw4 canopy assemby.
This one is just a rough proof of concept build, but im interested in what you think, does it still have that vulture/maddog look ?

is it better/worse than the mw4 version

In my opinion, the shoulders need to arch up next to the cockpit, to not only give it some more protection, but to also give it that hunched "vulture" look.

Thanks mate, unfortunatly im stuck with the shoulders being as it is a MW4 version.

This is what the original canopy looks like.

While the new design is closer to the original design, im not sure if it looks better or not.

I found this one today, which has an almost identical canopy to the new design

It also has the extra shoulder height you mention, i might play with adding a little up there later on, though right now im at the mass limit for 60 tons in scale with my other mechs, it will be easier to see if i have any scope for extra mass when the arms are done.
Right now though they are a good match with my madcats mass/scale wise

Ah, I understand.

Yes actually, the redesign does look better in my opinion, with that more extreme slope to the cockpit. Much closer to the original style (which I prefer :P).
