Just a simple thanks!
« on: September 21, 2011, 10:53:59 AM »
Hi guys,

Just wanted to make my post here to thank the creators of this mod for all the hard work and also the community here for being so friendly so far.  I just spent my first several few hours in the game and was having a blast!  I feel like it has captured the feel of battletech more than the commercial releases out there have.  Particularly the fact that tanks and aero fighters have their place in the game, unlike mechwarrior where tanks are useless mostly :)

I look forward to seeing everyone in game, so I can stop sucking!

EDIT:  Im a very long time Battletech fan, so this mod makes me extra happy!

Well, funny story actually.  I was screwing around on Reddit and saw a funny picture of a cat piloting a Mad Cat mech made of cardboard.  It was hilarious to me, being such a fan of Battletech.  Couple weeks later, Battletech was still on my mind, as I hadn't read any of the books or played any of the games in many many years.  I did some Wikipedia browsing to see if there were any new Mechwarrior or BT related games coming, and MWLL was mentioned in there, and the idea of a Crysis mod based on Battletech got me all hot and bothered.  So I dug up my Crysis Wars disc and installed it immediately.

Fast forward several hours, and now I'm a happy guy!

Welcome. Are you French?

Haha, I'm like 1/8th French, but if you're referring to my alias, it had nothing to do with being French.  I chose it because I think the word "Chortle" is hilarious and underused (you only ever really see it if you are big on reading books/novels).  So, I became the Chortlier because it sounded almost as funny as Chortle, haha!

This sounds like the best way to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Amnesia the Dark Descent... where the hallucinations aren't just on the screen.

I just enjoy an hour or so after work sometimes, am I doing it wrong?
