Hey!

Hey! Found a video of the mod on youtube randomly and I was floored. I am a huge fan of Battletech and Mechwarrior and I had no idea something like this existed! I haven't gotten the chance to do anything mech related in years (not much interest for it locally) and that video has gotten me super excited!

I don't even own Crysis Wars, but with any luck that'll change soon. Thought I'd get the ball rolling here and introduce myself, at least!

Steam sale! Bought and installing. I spent some time watching videos and tutorials yesterday and while downloading. Looks pretty awesome, but I get the feeling I am going to be a bit overwhelmed at first.

When you spawn for the first time, don't just run off.

Read the boards/posters in the spawn area.

Will save you asking questions for the simple stuff. Then just hit Y and type out your bigger questions for everyone to answer.

Welcome,

In addition to doorknobs excellent tutorials, there are people out there ready and willing to lend a hand getting people started in game: RMA Sandhurst.  PM anyone one in the list of instructors to see if they can help you out.

Also, many of us are present on the MWLL IRC channel (it's like Toast, only slightly more active)

Thanks, I watched those videos while downloading. I read the Sandhurst threads (I love how everthing here has a lore name =p) but they looked old and inactive, and I'm a little shy about randomly messaging people for help. I played a few games yesterday and I think I display small levels of competence now. Definately have a lot to learn, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Everyone on that list has volunteered to help train people new to the mod like yourself, so don't worry about PMing any of them.

In fact if they are anything like me they enjoy training, it's a nice change to competitive play, is our way of helping being involved in expanding the playerbase, and often helps us analyse our own tactics/gameplay style.

Also, get yourself on the MWLL Outreach TS3 server, chances are someone on that list will be on there (ts9.gameservers.com:9144)

Getting an error when I try to connect to TS. It resolves hostname and attempts to connect but all I get is "failed to connect."
