Team Atlas: The Free Server!
« on: October 06, 2011, 09:36:10 AM »
DISCLAIMER: Team Atlas and it's members in no way condone or support pirating games. I myself have never played Crysis Wars itself for that same reason. I don't own it, so I don't play it. However, we feel that Mechwarrior: Living Legends is a great mod, and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to. That being said...

Hey guys, Oswin here.

I wanted to let everyone know that we have a new dedicated server up for those of you who want to enjoy Living Legends as it should be: for free!

Right now, I'm actually running the server off of my laptop, so it won't be available all the time. As long as I have reliable internet access, though, Team Atlas will be hosting a server. We are currently working on setting up a desktop so we can keep the server running at all times.

I'm testing around a couple maps in the rotation right now, so let me know what you guys want to see! Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Enjoy our server!

Crysis Warhead was available for 2.49€/4.99$ (US)/7.49$ (Mexico) yesterday on Steam. Why provide another hacked server?

I and many people I know fall into the category of people that have nice gaming equipment, but have had trouble finding jobs. So, we play free games.

Interesting definition of free you have there..

Thief gameplay + Doom3 engine = The Dark Mod

Crysis Warhead is not a free game. If you have trouble finding 2.49€, how are you able to survive at all, let alone own a computer and pay for power bills etc.? The money you would have needed for one simple Crysis Warhead key could be obtained by not drinking one or two soda cans or bottles. Once. And I am sure there are plenty of examples that you could obstain once simply for buying a game.

I'd kindly ask that if you have nothing to contribute regarding Team Atlas's server, don't clutter up the thread with personal attacks.

Where did I attack you personally?

By implying that I spend my money on frivolous things instead of saving up for Crysis Warhead. I have no income. I'm 20, recently had a falling-out with my parents, and I'm lucky enough to be staying with a friend that is willing to let me stay with him free of charge as long as I'm actively searching for a job. I can't obtain money by not drinking soda cans or bottles that I don't even have in the first place. The laptop I'm running the server off of is one of my few possessions.

Now can we please get back on topic?

A soda is not a frivolous thing... That was just a simple example for something ordinary that you might consume once in a while. If you do not have the money to buy certain things, then, well, simply do not obtain them. That is the whole point of things, that are not free of charge. You cannot use them, unless you pay for or steal them, naturally.

Pirating Crysis Warhead is just the least understandable thing to do, because it already has been sold quite frequently at prices for every-day consumptions.

I am sorry though, that your current situation in live is not that great currently.

You have to understand the code of duty and honor that rules those who pilot these engines of destruction. Placing such an awesome weapon in the hands of an individual implies a similar gesture of trust

Just because your life is currently not in a good place does not mean you can activatly support pirating and illegal ownaship of games.

You will find no one on these forums who will support you, in fact most of the play base don't even want to use the current hacked server as it is, and alot don't.

As harsh as it is maybe you should sort your life out instead of promoting illegal things.

I hope some luck comes your way soon.

Edit as you can see people on these forums don't want to be dicks, we are just honest

I started playing on "infamous" boss server. I now own original crysis and donate to the mod. Please, stop any moral discussion about cracked servers. Most of original servers were cracked and when they became dedicated to the mod they switched to legal copy. Let new people come and test the mod, they will buy original when they evaluate the mod for themselves, and decide its worthy of their time. I'm sorry to say this but that kind of servers are recruiting ground for new players. We always need more people.

+ Dont forget that most people, dont own paypal and such measures of e-payment so as a result u need to by the game in stores in which the price is well not 5 bucks, for example in my country the game is currently 30$ while the average pay is 200$!

Thanks, but I don't have any e-payment accounts, as TOMTOM corrected guessed. I'm keeping my server open, boycott it if you want, but the only thing different about it from your servers is the fact that it's run off of a computer that has a specific TCP/UDP port closed on my firewall.

The current map rotation is as follows;
TC_ThunderRift
TC_DeathValley
TSA_Extremity
TC_Kagoshima
TC_Marshes
TSA_Inferno
