Great!

Otherwise but no.

I'm new and I just installed MWLL this morning and was able to get it working on my Steam crysis wars on every accessible server on 0.5.1 ... yay!
I was able to recalibrate and fix my controller from horrorstick to joystick ... YAY!
I got to play MWLL for 1 hour ... yay?
restarted my computer, had windows updates ... bleh.
tried to start MWLL and it said "new patch available", DL'ed it and installed ... YAY!
Tried to connect to a server, said "Disconnected from server" from all servers I tried. Error messages varied each try ... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

EDIT: to clarify the error messages in the console/game.txt file in crysis wars are the ones that vary by each connection attempt.

Same issue here, "Disconnected from server" is all I get whenever I try to connect to any server I tried. That and the unskipable Crysis Wars intro. Why is this happening?

A few things to keep an eye out for:

1) If you get the crysis wars intro install the vc_redist packages inside the Mods/mwll/bin32 and Mods/mwll/bin64 directories
2) If you use the debug.dll make shure to keep the original mwll_debug.dll in place. So make a copy of it, not just rename it
3) The bin32 and bin64 directories _HAVE_ to contain the following files mwll.dll, mwll_debug.dll, mwll_release.dll

If you get a disconnected from server error open up the ingame console and look up the disconnct message or close the game and look up the disconnect message in the game.log file.

Kind Regards
Ingrater

I've just asked on the irc chat about my issue, and one fellow recommended I repair my build. So I'm doing that now first, and after if it doesn't work I'll try your advice. Thank you.

More armor was relocated to the sides because the side torso is so huge on those machines. They did not increase the side torso  :P

Uzis and Cougars got some armor taken from other locations to and put into side torsos to toughen them up.

Yes this makes arms a little squishier but simply making the opponent think about hitting other components other than the side torso will help with survivability in addition to the actual armor buffs to the most obvious targets.

As for Scats... it made no sense that the scat was the only mech with Jesus reverse speed, much faster mechs couldn't even match it. The Scat will be fine.

Also, as far as I know the Gauss was having some weird behavior of hitting out to 950m or so sometimes, then not even making it to 900m other times, I think these changes were to make it consistent.

There are plenty of yumyums in this patch that are not in those notes.

One of my favorites is the RAC2 buffs... omnomnom.  8)

Right.
1) Check! installed everything
2) What does this mean exactly? made copies of MWLL_debug.dll
3) Check! all there!

Tried to start game doesnt even start to main menu now only gives me a black screen.

As for rebuilding. tried that, it actually corrupted my game more and it says now when starting the game files are modified and i need to revert the changes.

I have the Game.log file from before I did anything saved if needed. Same for the new one.

I hope you saved the files from updates, the ones over 1GB. I just talked to him over IRC, he's gone for the day, and he recommended that I do a clean reinstall, which I'm in the process of doing. Though not sure if I should re-download .52 again. Maybe that was corrupted in the download process the first time.

Code: [Select]
- modified Raven D:...One of my favorite assets, I wonder what they changed.

Code: [Select]
removed SXPL and one heatsink ....I'll miss the pulse laser, and removing a heatsink always hurts for an energy platform.... I wonder what other changes they made, hopefully a LAMS or something and not something that would be further detrimental to heat output

Code: [Select]
and changed medium lasers to ER medium lasers.Damnit.

Well, I can always hop back in the good ol' laser owens.

I suppose as a consolation, the raven D now has a decent range advantage when compared to other things in its class.....I just worry that the poor thing will melt.

Nah, it won't melt, it can still manage the heat. But it has lost about 30% of its raw dps, and that for a meager 100m range bonus on the MBLs.

Personally I would have prefered to remove the MBLs and replace them with 3 more SXPLs. Basically the exact opposite from what they've done  ;D

Yeah, it has one of the highest ranges of the starters now, but it does not really help it in any way. I have always seen the D as a game opener. It is very good compared with the other starters, but when joining late the E has alwas been the better choice IMHO.
And thats where I think it might get problems. It can't use that new advantage against the other starters.

Now it has lost a big chunk of its pewpew for extra range... that it can't even use.
The Uller P has the bigger range and similar dps values at medium - long range combat, additionally to more short range power. And all the other starters that have a smaller range are faster and can waaaay outdps it now. Owens B/C, Uller C and B (might turn out nice with the (U)AC10 buffs) are all faster and have more pewpew. Even the Heph has a variant that outranges it, outdamages it and outlasts it in the starting ranges, now that the Heph B is a rank 1 unit.

Its the only bad thing I can say about patch 0.5.2  :(

Just letting this out there, the game/update works after uninstalling and re-installing. It was fast for me because I kept the files of the updates on my PC instead of deleting them. Anyway, sorry for the yammering here.

So, I crashed 2 times in a row in TC_Marsh and I decided to do a repair to see if something is wrong. Now the game either crash on launch or saying I have modified file and unable to join.

Greatest thing is, I can't even start the game any more with the "repairs" done.
