0.5.2 Feedback and Discussion
« on: October 19, 2011, 11:38:35 PM »
Please use this thread to discuss your take on the new release.
Positives and Negatives.

Please keep opinions on the down-low, though they are welcome.
We prefer empirical feedback over gameplay bias.

If you have any bugs to report, do so here based on a simple format.

Primary Issue:
- What is the problem
- How did you find it
- What issues does the problem cause

Reproduction Steps:
- What steps are required to properly duplicate this issue
- If it is a map, where is the problem (grid location and screenshots)

Aside from any additions and balance changes, this patch is primarily an optimization pass from the Art Team. Future upcoming releases will contain brand new assets. It's better to optimize performance than throw more things in to bog down performance. A new workflow based on clean, optimized assets has been put in place for all future additions to be released shortly.

Thanatos A appears to be the old variant in the buy menu.  It does buy the new variant which is priced correctly, though.

After updating the game to the new patch the mod will not load properly. The wandering samurai intro is disabled and the unskipable annoying ass crysis intro plays instead. The main menu displays a strange combination of vertical and horizontal green bars. Upon clicking multiplayer, the server list displays properly but when you try to connect to a server you are promptly disconnected with the "you have been disconnected..." message. Running a repair build causes the mod to load correctly, except that you get the modified files error and are booted to desktop. Running repair a second time causes the game to lock up when it is run: black screen.

I have successfully duplicated this issue after un/reinstalling the game, patching it and installing the mod from scratch (retail box version). After discussing with others, it seems there is some sort of issue with the VCredist files used by the mod. Some official direction on how to fix this bs would be handy as this is a very time consuming and frustrating problem.

The scoring system in TC mode seemed to be completely broken. It's not kills, nor points, nor anything visible for the player.

The Torso twist sound on Mechs seems to be wrong. It sounds like one on a tank, or rather a sound from a moving thank, I think.

Happens in TSA I noticed as well.

I'm having similar problems to Nakor and Cik.

Just updated with the auto-updater and I noticed some of the things were missing; i.e. no intro screen, couldn't join any servers, and if I opened the options tab the text was missing everywhere so I did the "repair build".  Now it tells me I'm using modified files and closes the game automatically after I open it.  If I do repair build again, the same two files come up every time: "info.xml" and "bin32\vcredist_x64_2005_KB2538242.exe".   Do I need to uninstall everything now?

Bug:
Friendly Huits do not have name tags.
Several people on the server confirmed that, no one told me otherwise.

Personal opinion:
I do not like the reduced maximum cash transfer of 5k. And as far as I recall the banking poll I created a while ago, I wont be the only one.

Other than that the game ran fine.

The banking adjustment is a temporary solution to abuse, full banking will return at some point, when we make it better.

patch installed and game launched without issue, played for about 40 minutes on lunch. Did see some odd behaviors, got into a battle with a warhammer, and although is PPC's were shooting at me, they were coming out of its back and left rear quarter not the front of the meach. Saw way more mechs hovering around the battlefield not actually animated and I'm thinking this is what the warhammer was doing as well.

We're working on the issues you've all addressed and will release a hotfix as soon as we isolate the problems. Thanks for your feedback. Keep it coming.

downloaded 5.2 patch loaded fine except a notice auto updater failed to delete files relating to the 5.2 patch

started mwll off launcher and no servers listed in game

closed game and hit repair build via mwll launcher ..said a few files were corrupted so hit autofix everything seemed ok

launched game via launcer again and game seems to load normally then i get "modified files: revert to original files to play mwll"

i hit repair build again option and get a nice black screen when trining to load the game again :)

got the feeling its time to reload crysis wars all over after this patch is settled... :D
