......... and partially because people just fire everything the second it's ready, and eventually even coolant can't save you anymore
That's a symptom of high levels of free coolant more than anything else.
Without coolant people soon learn to chain-fire after a half dozen shutdowns (which was something positive to take from the recent Haarp debacle, we got to test what MWLL would be like with no coolant and it was good). Even with a 1-3 tap "get-out-of-jail-free" coolant shot (something I don't see the need for but which Invictus and others have argued for) you'd still be only good for a few alphas....which is definately going to be better than nothing (although it makes you "couple-of-flushes" guys sound like coolant-junkies

).
If I have one disappointment from 0.5.2 (and I have sooo many positives) it's that the Devs planned changes to the Heat/Coolant System (C-Pods were mentioned) did not make it into this patch *crosses fingers for the next patch*
On Topic: MW4 ruined the Daishi for me (And I loved it in MW3 as it was a F-You statement to the pilots hiding behind 130kph 'mechs and a 2s lag-shield, it was like beating them one-handed due to the massive disadvantage

), after felling Daishi after Daishi (quite literally thousands of them) in a Mauler/Sunder/Hellspawn etc. in MW4, the Daishi/Dire Wolf for me now is the poster boy for dull, repetitive, frankenmechs; "Career Daishi Pilot" was a term I reserved as an insult back then.
Hopefully MWLLs pods and planned heat system changes will take some of the lactose out of the Daishi (the price if anything else will make it uncommon at least), and I'll be able to enjoy the Daishi once again *fingers crossed*.
