0.5.2 Crysis Wars intro instead of MWLL intro + broken menu

Are you getting a black screen? Have you tried waiting for 30-40 seconds to see if the intro movie comes up? I've been getting the black screen for over a year now, but the mod never fails to load (unless I do something silly like alt tab out while the black screen is there, which seems to crash the game).

Yeah, I always had the black screen and the game used to start correctly. But now I wait several minutes, start the task manager and see thet the game doesn't respond. I might try to reinstall the whole ****, because I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms  .

Getting this too. First I updated my install of 0.5.1 to 0.5.2 manually (as my updater didn't work), and was getting the different intro and broken menu, with disconnect error. I went though all the different VC distros in the Bin32 and Bin64 folders, and although they all kept quitting after the "Gathering Information" stage, I started getting a black screen. Left it at the black screen for god knows how long but nothing changed.

Did a reinstall of MWLL and getting the same issue, maybe it's an issue with the distro not installing properly or something since it quit so soon?

UPDATE: I renamed my "Crysis Wars" folder in Documents->My Games to something different, then went through the process of creating a new profile (Running Crysis Wars, creating new profile, logging in online, going into a server). Then I loaded MWLL and it loaded after around 20 seconds with the proper intro and has the proper menu now, so must be something in my old profile causing issues. I'll keep investigating.

Having quite a bit of trouble launching the game myself. I'm running a 64-bit vista with an ATI 5850 GPU. Had no problems at all with prior versions of the game.

Today when I updated to 0.5.2, I got the known broken menu + wrong intro bug. I repaired the build, after which I started the game again and got the right intro this time. Now I ran into the "modified files" problem. After that, I tried repairing again. Nothing to fix apparently. Still black screen. I installed the "vcredist_x64_2005_KB2538242.exe". Still black screen.
I removed my crysis wars folder in "my games" and started regular crysis wars up. Worked perfectly. I could even jump into several servers without problems.

I tried launching MWLL again. I immediately get notification for the program crashing. I try repairing again. Nothing to fix. I try installing vcredist_x64_2005_KB2538242.exe again. Now I'm back to the black screen problem.

This game SERIOUSLY doesn't want me to play it.

Try deleting the Cryis Wars folder inside My Games right before starting mwll. (do not start regular crysis wars before)

Sweet. That actually worked! Now I have more fun things to play while I wait for SotS 2!

This should be not an issue anymore since Ingrater static-linked all VC files into our binaries. If you are still having those issues after the 0.5.3 update please let us know!
