Some of the base ramps, when exiting them in a mech, makes the mech do that "oof" drop down thing, as if you had just stepped off a cliff and landed. It didn't slow down my Raven, but I think bigger mechs could get caught up by this. Again, can't remember exact locations, sorry. But I will keep an eye out for this in the future and note it next time I see it.
Ill look into that, those ramps had some various iterations of themselves swapped in and out during development of the map.. looks like something may have been overlooked in relation to their collision proxies.
Got stuck on the terrain in a few places, as did some of my friends. I'll get screenshots ASAP to point out the stuck locations. One was in a Demo, simply driving over a gentle hill. It didn't exactly look like treacherous ground, so I'm guessing it was a bug.
Yes, gentle sloping terrain shouldnt be getting tanks stuck at all.. there are a few areas on the map that are definately hazardous to drive tanks on or near.. but from your description my guess is the terrain will just need some smoothing in a few areas, screenshots will be very handy to track those down.
There were also some minor changes that we missed getting included in 0.5.2, things like opening the terrain properly to the edge of the stadium so the whole map is playable(underwater too), and a bunch of stuck spots and terrain smoothing along the waters edges.. those changes will be rolled out with our upcoming 0.5.3 hotfix.
VERY BA-friendly map in general. This should be fun for a lot of unique situations. Didn't have a lot of time to play as one, but definitely will try out dedicated BA more often in the future.
Very much so, the cathedral area is designed to be BA friendly in relation to fighting mechs/tanks... lots of hiding spots and cover around there, but we also added a specific underground bunker complex of tunnels which are designed only for BA combat.. should provide some interesting fights when we get to overhauling & expanding our battlearmour mechanics
