I'm not an ambi-turner. It's a problem I had since I was a baby. I can't turn left.
You'd be horrible at nascar

Forever onwards, never backwards. Incoming missile? Evade to the left. Never to the right.

According to my keyboard I spend all my time pressing S, Z, X, C, V, B, N, M, because the paint is almost entirely missing on those keys.  ::)

I'm saddened no one caught the ambi-turner reference.  :'(

Regarding Descent... I just replayed Descent 3 without a joystick for the first time and I found a really nice set of custom controls. W/S for forward/back, A/D for strafing left and right, Z/X for sliding up and down (feels weird but works), and Q/E for rolling. Cumbersome to learn, but effective. I'm stuck on the mission where you have to kill all the storm troopers on the CED ship and use a guided missile to blow a thingy up at the end of a narrow tunnel. I can't find the last four troopers or any guided missiles. >:(

Leeko, try using the guide bot. As much as I hated it in D2 (and almost never used it) it proved to be slightly better in D3.

For the rest of you:
I am curious what your keys look like, please post pictures.

that mission is a bitch. tried to do coop on that with one of my dimensionally challenged friends, and even i got lost. guidbot FTW most of the time, except when he says the way is blocked...
i see you have almost the same controls as myself, cept i use R/F for up down and x for afterburners.
Z/C sounds awkward ;D

That harkens me back to the days of doom, quake, and unreal. My crazy control scheme is still effective in slower paced FPSs.

a = jump    s = look up        f= center view              up arrow = forward
z = crouch  x = look down                                      down arrow = back
crtl = fire   alt = oddly alternate fire for Unreal         right arrow = turn right (strafe right)
space = strafe modifier                                           left arrow = turn left (strafe left)

I had an even crazier friend who used mouse buttons for turn right and turn left, middle button for fire. And mouse movement left and right for vertical aim.  :o

It's dangerous to go alone, take this... Lonely old man with you

Raise your quality standards as high as you can live with, avoid wasting your time on routine problems, and always try to work as closely as possible at the boundary of your abilities. Do this, because it is the only way of discovering how that boundary should be moved forward.
