Red Alert 3
« on: February 15, 2008, 02:42:53 AM »
This is without a doubt the best use of the color red I have ever seen. I never played a whole lot of RA or RA2, but I really liked CNC3 and I hope that this makes good use of the Red Alert series.

Lost interest.  RA2 was the shit back in 2001, but Red Alert 3 (which looks exactly like the generals mod with the same name ironically) just looks too outdated for me to care about.

I hated C&C3, it had good atmosphere and stuff, but the gameplay was horrible IMO.

It's not my idea of fun or stratigy when you get super-weaponed 8 minutes in the game and a victor is declaired then or after the initial 2 minute tank spam.

Just because it looks like CnC3 , it does not mean it will play like it, what would be crap is if they kept the Generals build mechanics.
Unfortunately they have lost Frank Klepacki to Petroglyph so the music may not keep up with the other RAs.

I can't wait for this game to come out.  I've always been a fan of the red alert series.  I was extremely annoyed when EA screwed up the release of the First Decade.  They could have done a much better job packaging the installs and making sure everything would be compatible.  Thank god the community was able to figure it out.  I just hope EA doesn't screw up this game.

Mainly because it had too much fantasy and crazy $h17.

Just look at that Yuri guy ::)

For me it was like they thew all sorts of stuff together (units + gameplay elements).
And somehow the graphics wasn't "polished" / "homogen".

I guess I just didn't have any sympathy for RA2 from the beginning on.

I found YR unbalanced because it was easy to play as Yuri, but hard to play against, so online got annoying.

But the single player was fun.
