Hepatitis ramming
« on: November 02, 2011, 12:44:15 AM »
Was the Heph ment to be able to flip much heavier tanks by just ramming into them?
Making it impossible to fight against someone doing this or anything else shooting you.
Ramming damage, that would be ok. But the flipping over part is really annoying. And some individuals will use this tactic/exploit as soon as they seen an enemy tank.

The Hepatitis is only really good at flipping other hovercraft and the Oro. Other tanks it just bumps around.
The solution: Shoot it till it dies, or stick with your buddies in mechs.

But the main question still is: Was the Heph ment to do this? Or is it just some sort of glitch?

I highly doubt a 30 ton hover craft is intended to flip a 60 ton tank.

Also, lol Hepatitis?

Do you have Hepatitis A, B, or C? Does it come armed with twin ERMBLs and jaundice?

Had one try to do this the other day to my Demo. Managed to get stuck on my Turret and couldn't get off.

I had RAC5's....

Not quite working as intended.  Consider intentional flipping to be an exploit.  Ramming for damage is intended though.

I was able to free up a Demo on my team that got stuck on a rock (Savanna Pro).  I didn't think I was even going to be able to do anything but one bump and it was able to get off the rock..

Have something half your weight hit you at 100+ kph and see if you still feel that way :)

The only change I'd make is to increase damage taken by the ramming unit.

I remember this. I rammed as I was out of SRM ammo and overheating. I was rather surprised to see your demo start flipping!

Fun game that was.

Quit spreading your Hepatitis and take it like a man.

Anyway in past there were a few people who used Aerospace ramming as an exploit and that was gradually fixed (or discouraged) over time. It was a different situation when you could take a Sparrowhawk and slam into a Shiva from behind, kill it and get full score + cash rewards from it.

Difference being that the aero stuff is actually broken. Tank ramming is nowhere even close, and comparing the two is just silly.

It used to be easier to do it, the 5.2 patch made it much harder to get underneath demos and tanks.

In some cases, it could be that the collision meshes need to be improved.

Would be nice to see the Server Administrators make an acknowledgment of that statement and alter their rulesets accordingly. But getting them to agree with MWLL devs is a futile effort akin to getting an 8 year old their shots up to date.
