Shiva prices
« on: November 03, 2011, 09:24:45 PM »
So now that we're restricted to sending 5k per minute, its rather difficult to get the obscene amounts of money required to field some of the Shiva variants. Any chance we can get some price reductions on these? 10-20k or so?

WHAT THE FU** ?! Seriously, WTF
Shivas are to cheap! I dont think it s only my opinion when i m sayin that Shivas are definitely to cheap. . .

The Beatstick for example :

- MKII-Beatstick : damn slow; big target; NO electronics -> about 110k

- Shiva-Beatstick : about 300km/h fast; truely harder to hit and enough armor to survive; 4tons(!) for extra ammo; BHP; ->about 90k

so, wtf are you talking about, they r definitely to cheap!

EDIT:

Dear god no. And if you somehow are short on cash, learn how to use the Raven E.

All of the non-cheesy Shivas (the flying beatstick, and the LRM one) are ridiculously expensive. The Fbomber can instagib mechs, but it's also the size of the Titanic and handles like an office building. The other ones like the Prime are a joke, you'd be better off in a heavy on the ground.

You know the 5k limit hurts everyone, not just Aerospace?

It was a bandaid until they added the banking system, but it's an unnecessary bandaid.

He prices are perfectly in order ,  is simple when you have lost a foot  - to become much more difficultly to earn quickly on the good mech. An interdiction legging. Or it is better to add still the reservation on feet! :)

One day you will learn to play and will be getting enough money to afford anything, then you will wish even more expensive assets exist.

However, many Shiva variants are hardly useful. Shiva Prime loses to Sulla A in terms of both A/G and A/A effectiveness. Shiva A is just a joke now. Shiva D is fun to use, but way to vulnerable to ground fire and AA - no way to survive against even barely decent team. Shiva E is overpowered.

IMHO, Shiva need some changes in variants. The dual HGauss variant must be there, it should be fine with nowadays HGauss mechanics. it may take the place of Shiva D. We may have 4*Lt Gauss variant in place of Shiva A. Shiva Prime may get rid of LRMs for another 2 ERLBLs (according to Sarna, they have the same weight), and please - set Gausses in the pods that are close to cockpit, if it is possible. This way, Shiva Prime would actually be able to compete with Sulla A.

Right, because MWLL needs more Shivas in the skies.

Right, because MWLL needs more Shivas in the skies.

Learn to shoot them down Virt.

About 1/3 of my kills usually come from ASF & VTOLs (they're a nice little money earner if you take pot-shots when you see them) and flying things account for at most about 1/5 of my deaths.  Sure I engage 3-4 ASF for every 1 ASF I Kill (unless the pilots doing something stupid or is new), but usually they have to RTB after being engaged and most often 2-3 of them will be destroyed due to allied fire from those 4 engagements.  When I do get fragged by ASF it was because I was engaging ground targets and the pilot had seen the opportunity and gone for it, or when 2 or 3 ASF are working together well for revenge....that's fair play in my book.  I'm not the best AA gunner I know, and 10s feels like an eternity when you're 35kph, but I do it because it earns you cash and rank fast and dependably, while helping the team.

Shivas give you the most money from inflicting damage on them, they're very easy to hit (slow and big) and a lot easier to kill than a Sulla (frankly: the Sullas a PITA for the AA gunner), or even a well piloted VTOL.  From my PoV I'd like my skies full of Shivas rather than Sullas ;D

The thing about both the Beatsticks (flying and walking) is not so much the price but the weapon recycle rate.  The LB10X&20X firing once every 6s or so (compressing all the firepower of 6s of AC20 fire into that one hit-scan moment!).  I do hope eventually that the Devs will realise that the LB-20X completely breaks air-ground gameplay...why would I ever use AC20s on an ASF (something common in ground attack CBT ASF) when thanks to the rate of LB20X fire I will be insta-gibbed if I try to use them (so we get ballooning instead of strafing and never see the heavier AC ASF other than the Beatstick :(

From the AA gunners PoV the LB-instagib is just as cheesy, when you have to deal with lag and lead and time-on-target to do 60% damage to a Shiva only to have it insta-gib'd by a SCat B is like a slap in the face (that's 1LB20X=4UAC2 and 2UAC5! and happens every day of the week), the 5X is working beautifully with it's new faster RoF, the 10X and in particular the 20X need this attention also!

You've flown an office building?

^^^I lol'd.  +1

In all honesty I feel the Shiva E should see an increase in price, the C and LRM one staying right where they are, and all the other variant's price dropped.

Shiva E's are way too powerful to be one of the cheapest Shivas to buy, which is why you see them around and not the other variants.
