Today I had a game, where someone was NARCing and I happen to be in an MRM asset. I was doing some tests everytime there was a NARC in my vicinity. No matter where I looked (except vaguely in the direction of NARCed unit sometimes) and no matter whether my radar was active or passive, the MRMs were completely useless every time.

I always thought this was well known, I guess I should make a proper bug report about it.

I think that is how they are supposed to work, as they are only semi-guided missiles or what not.  If you are trying to use MRMs while someone is NARCing or using TAG, but don't want, or can't hit the NARCed target then just go passive, as you can still guide MRMs that way.

I personally don't think they should work like LRMs or other missiles when NARCing, it should still take a little more effort than just fire and forget. :)

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

That's not the problem he's having, though. His MRMs spread out even when he fires passive. I personally haven't had that happen, but it definitely is a weird behavior. MRMs and TAGs usually behave pretty poorly too unless someone is a very good, consistent tagger (usually, as soon as a tag stops, all the missiles spread out, even if the tag picks back up again).

No no, they behaved like I described in an earlier post: Whenever a NARC is active in the vicinity, the MRMs will flight straight along their initial pyramidal trajectory and you are unable to guide them, regardless of whether your radar was active or not. It does not matter if you look 180° away from the NARCed target, you will not be able to guide your missiles, regardless of whether your radar was active or not. Even when your radar is active, the missiles should not behave that way. And when your radar is passive, they should certainly not  behave that way either.

Post yours!

Owens D
1x DSRM4
2x SXPL
2x MXPL
GECM is enough leftovers for a good HS count.
remaining tons in heat sinks.

Owens E
1x LPL
1x NARC
GECM, BAP, 1 ton ammo
Several heat sinks
If there are more then enough free tons left add some small lasers for close range.

Can't think of a Osiris, so I'll quote this for support.
Osiris E:
1xLight Gauss Rifle
2xSmall Beam laser
BHP
GECM
MASC
1 free ton
Low-ish armor.

That would be the one Osiris variant that I'd use.

They did this back in 4.X as well.

It looks like a big perfectly square dot pattern in whatever direction you shot, instead of loosely grouping towards the cross hairs.

Even assuming the weapon weights are the same in MWLL, it may be assumed that MWLL mechs come with CASE installed since there are no weapon explosions. Actually we don't even know what engine MWLL installs into each mech...

I think it's safe to assume that MWLL uses relatively the same engine as the engine in the boardgame would be at the same speed. Mechs with odd speeds like the Mad Cat probably have the difference between a 86kph and a 64kph engine.

doesn't the (OS) in those represent One Shot? So you get one volley then you're spent?  Sounds like lousy sex.

The best part is there is absolutely no reason to use One-shot weapons, since they weigh a half ton more than the regular weapon.

Yup.

Also, Aethon utterly destroyed the Omnimech by ripping out fixed components (BAP, C3, TAG) :(
I also wasn't aware that people still used TDB
