How much has changed in a year?
« on: November 13, 2011, 07:52:26 PM »
I'm thinking about getting crysis warhead and playing this mod again. Its been over a year since last I played, and I'm sure much has changed. About this time last year, if I remember right, the main 'issues' were

1) The nova cat.
2) Aerospace being too slow
3) CTD errors

What new stuff has been added to the game in the last year, and what has been fixed or broken? A preemptive thank you to those who take the time to reply.

None of those things are serious issues any more.
For an overview over what is new, best read/skim the first couple pages of http://www.mechlivinglegends.net

hey DC. i remember that name. yes, all of those are fixed, at least imo. game is pretty stable, and the novacat is only average now. as for aero, it's always been a contentious topic, but it seems ~ok to me.

I think he's referring to the nova cat leg animation crash which has since been resolved.

Thanks for the replies again. Actually I forgot about the Nova Cat leg thing, I was referring to the OP'd ness of it. I'll be sure to read the front pages going back a year, forgot about that. Hopefully there are many updates full of content to absorb  ;D

I started playing around May and 99.99% of it has been in random pub matches, so take my experince with a massive bag of salt.

If Novacats were OP, they definitely aren't now. They pump out alot of damage but not anything more so then other things at the same price point. (Ok they may, before someone hits me upseide the head with DPS numbers. What I mean is they don't feel like death incarnate when I see one any more so then a Mk II or Mauler) I generally avoid them in most cases because it's too easy for someone to hack off an arm or two and screw the asset. :)

They increased the cost of the Nova Cat quite a bit to make them painful to get and lose. Also, I do NOT miss the 4 CERPPC sniping on Thunderrift.

More often then not you see people take their arms off, it it worse then just dying. But no, Novas certainly are not OP.

Yeah, Novacats are hardly overpowered as most people have said, but shadowcats and aerospace....
