I just got a 60-day trial code for EVE Online in the mail; if anyone here wants to try EVE, just let me know...and I would be glad to help you figure out how things work, etc.

the new warp sequence reminds me of this:

Raise your quality standards as high as you can live with, avoid wasting your time on routine problems, and always try to work as closely as possible at the boundary of your abilities. Do this, because it is the only way of discovering how that boundary should be moved forward.

Mordin Solus has inspired me.

I am the very model of a futuristic corporate whore,
I've information gravimetric, radar, ladar, and lots more,
I know the CEO's of Branch, I quote the fights historical
From Geminate to Providence, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters economical,
I understand all contracts, both the simple and quadratical,
On matters of biology I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the state of booster drug abuse.

Gilbert & Sullivan was amusingly cheesy.  Mordin Solus doing Gilber & Sullivan was epic.  EVE adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivan's 'Modern Major General' done in dubstep = mind blown.

I got myelf into a 60 day trial and I've been playing the past few days.  I went Minmatar, but I've been in gallente space mostly working with my room mates on missions.  I was surprised how useful my Destroyer has proven given that most of them are in stuff far larger and more powerful.  Nice of eve to make it difficult for the bigger stuff to hit the smaller.

I'd tried playing once before a couple years ago and found it dead boring, but I'm enjoying it more now since I didn't spec in mining, I have friends to play with, and because there's a built in internet browser with which I'm using to post this and to browse the web while warping.

If I had real life friends playing eve with me, I would resub. Simple as that. Real life is shit alone. Eve is no different. Having someone cover your back and someone you know won't kill you, pod you, and rape your corpse in the black of space while selling everything in your wreck cause you know where they live in RL, is always a bonus ;)

I can't remember where I left off my skilling. It's just PvP side I like the most, but without dedicated members that you trust, it turns into fail. Not to mention needing to skill for ages (Even in small ships!) to have alot of ''fun''.

Yeah I'm from UK, so timezones do go against us ^^

I want to love Eve I really do. But it's so hard to.

I've decided to sub for 30days to see if I can get back into it. Problem is after i've finished skilling motion prediction V in just under 7 days, I don't know what to skill for.

Could aim for command ships, but they are pretty damn expensive for PVP, and one blob in low sec (not nullsec!) and I'm toast. Same with Loki, pretty expencive nice toy for pvp, but one interceptor and I'm screwed. That doesn't cheer me up. At least in a small gang either would completly rape as long as it wasn't a trap.

The new T3 BC is just fail, artilary and zero tank, it isn't going to be any good for small gang and solo work. I could stick with the Vagabond but literally NOTHING will engage me unless they have 10 people waiting to jump me, and that gets tiresome chasing people all day and getting zero kills. Cynabal is the same but costs more and a bit more skilling.

Hurricane is fine, but even nanoed it's so slow I get raped going through gates + BC V is 27 days :( But it is cheap.

I am very tempted to start the long painful skilling for Battleships, alot of damage and tank and fun. But soooooo slow. Not the best thing to use when I tend to move around alot.

AF are fun, but anything cruiser or up tends to swat me out of space unless I spend alot of money pimping my AF. Not worth doing that, so it tends to turn into a fast floating coffin. And Rifter is just boring and I hate the rupture with passion.

So it's:

Loki
Sleipnir
Vagabond/Cynabal
Huggin
Hurricane
A battleship doesn't matter which :D Haven't got any Large gun skills though but wouldn't take long to skill for few hours. No T2 though for ages.
Tornado - No T2 guns for donkey years.

I just can't decide. It's going to get pretty expencive to enjoy pvp, but that's the price you get for not dying in 10seconds I guess. I've lost too many hurricanes getting sick of it >.> I do better in a stabber or Jag/wolf since hurricane is so slow, can't turn and has either low dps or low tank. So I just tend to get scrambled and then screwed. I think I've only ever one a fight once in a hurricane :(

My two faves in PVP are the Hurricane and Myrmidon; if you have good drone skills, seriously, give the latter a try sometime.  You can even use your autocannons on it, since it does not have a specific weapon bonus.  You can also shield or armor tank on it; call me crazy, but I passive shield tank mine, and it gives a massive buffer as well.  The best part: with a passive shield tank, drones, and autocannons, the only thing you need cap for is MWD/AB and tackle/pin, none of which will kill you if unavailable (usually).

I mainly mention that ship because it gets its drone bonus from the Battlecruiser skillbook, and you seem to already have that trained up well for the Hurricane, and it would only take you 2 days or so (maybe 3) to train up Gallente Cruiser 3 from nothing.

BTW, if anyone here needs stuff moved in highsec or lowsec, just let me know; I have a blockade runner and rigged Iteron V (and a pilot max trained in maneuverability/sub-light speed/warp speed/cloaking). and would be more than glad to assist.  Also, if you are just returning to EVE and need to make some cash, I can run some level 4 missions and let you salvage/loot them; one or two of those should give you 30-50 mil with which to work.

In addition to that, if you have not resubbed yet, or want to give EVE a try, I still have a 60-day trial to give out.

Just send Tristan O'Connor or Miles O'Connor an EVEMail or PM me here if you are interested in any/all of the above.

My drone skills are ok but not up to the standard needed. And I need gallente cruiser 3 for cynabal anyway so i will be skilling gallante cruiser up, just not for a month.

90% of all my losses are in a hurricane and I have only ever won once using it. I am basically jnxed with it and absolutly hate riding in one because of the hundreds I have lost. So i am just going to sit in a tornado/vaga/jag while I get bc skilled to 5 and then get bs guns to t2 or take sleiphir after that. I need a good t2 ship with a tank so sleiphir will have to do.
