credit cheating
« on: November 25, 2011, 02:41:10 PM »
well on many servers, there is league mode now, including huntress, so you can send all ur money.

lets discuss this cheat situation:

some noobs transfer all their money without buying a mech to their best players and suicide.

if they rather bought something and transfer the rest... but all the money?

that's too much!

- CHILL OUT - I GOT THIS. -

lookoing correctly like a bitch, ran correctly against a wall, fell correctly down, died in honour.
who earlier dies is longer dead :>

And that is the reason a limiter was imposed.
Choose server to suit your desires.

Some searches on banking should draw up most of the history behind this.

Problem is if you choose another another server you will be playing with yourself. I'm hoping someone from the MWLL team will step in with some kind of action. Otherwise I want a coolantless server meow!

No C-Bill Transfer Limit: Because some players are so bad they need a sugar daddy to buy them a mech.

Cheat situation? I hardly call it cheating when its a built in server toggle. Obviously a bunch of people disagree with the limitation and how the game climate has been impacted and prefer the restriction lifted.

The behavior that you are calling cheating can be dealt with in game using teamwork. Not to mention if they are suiciding they get a 100sec timer on their next transfer and have hurt their team with negative points.  Get smart and swarm that banked mech down. A few lights can take down an assault IF they work together. It's a double win for you then.

Problem is if you choose another another server you will be playing with yourself. I'm hoping someone from the MWLL team will step in with some kind of action. Otherwise I want a coolantless server meow!

What action do you propose they take? The servers are not theirs to admin.  Had they chose to wait until they had the proper sharing system completed instead of a band aid "fix" this thread wouldn't exist.

Well when I first heard of the sharing cap I thought it would have been applied to all game modes, which would make me happy :)

I do agree that seeing an awesome in the first five minutes doesn't usually significantly impact the match, it still makes my osiris rage.

Due to the league mode necessity of setting and sharing cbills it is a must to leave that system in place. Considering how populated some of the servers have been since the change, i'd rather see a full to near full server at any time of day and deal with the chagrin of a banked assault gives me.

Solution: Don't play on Huntress. Play on XI, or the other servers that go up in down in population (7.WD, TLL, RUS MWLL).

When the next version comes out, finding a good server will be less of an issue, since more players will be spread out on more servers rather than everyone clumping into 2 servers with the leftovers spilling into the other servers.

The best way to counter their banking is to bank even harder. When someone on the other team's group brought out a Mad Cat in the first minute of a game, the next game my group brought out 2 Thanatos D's at the start.

Alternatively, just yell for everyone to all grab the exact same asset - you would be surprised how many people will jump into the same asset if they see 2-3 guys buying it as well. If people are all in the same asset, they also tend to stay in a group:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_I_SyK4W5w&feature=channel_video_title - Almost our entire team bought Hepatitis Primes at the start when Finalizer and me started yelling "BUY HEPATITSES". About half of them were on Teamspeak. When the enemy team started to spam their own Hepatitises, we brought out a bunch of RACWackers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFqev0Q5Z-o&feature=channel_video_title - Mad Cat B being swarmed to death by Ravens at the start of a round.

I'm hoping someone from the MWLL team will step in with some kind of action.

the "action" is the proper banking implementation that are still in the works... for now just enjoy the ride, or rally up a bunch of other players to play on other servers is about all that can be done.
Play my free open source web game MiniMek - Urbie Defense!  Its "mega fun" but with mini meks!

I don't think that is much of a solution, since the majority of people seem to want to play on that server.

Interesting "cheat"
I call it server owner. They can do whatever they think. EVERYTHING!
It is not like they force you to go and play there. It is the players that decide to play there. And if the majority of active players choose a certain server, they might be doing something right.
Go think about it.

Oh, jeah, they also have this boring rule, which does not allow legging. I would not call it cheating, but when I am on their server I fight by their rules.

Well it does not help they shell out a lot of money from their own pockets to give what is probably the most powerful MWLL server anyways.  OR the fact you see SJ on the SJ server fairly often.  When was the last time you saw Xray on the XI server?

If you see the other team start banking, well WTF is wrong with everyone, you have a issue with it, you get a banker started on your side, OR be the banker.

Unless SJ completely looses interest in the mod Huntress will be sticking around, as much as KoS may not like it, as they mostly hate various members of SJ, but people go where the money is, or in this case where the money is being spent.  IF you guys in KoS really hate it so much go band together and get a server that is as powerful out of your pocket, you are all active enough to admin it properly. Yes I know one of your players was banned so you are kind of forced to play on another server, but whos fault was that, really.

Stop this now. Topic is "credit cheating" man...

Also since it's been brought it up, I'm an east coaster and get a 10-15 ping to the Ghost Bear server. :D

Unlimited Cbill transfers have been "fine" for a year and a half... after 3 or so months their return isn't suddenly going to be a huge problem.
