I've been watching my mate play it and honestly that's enough for me.

I really don't think I'll be getting it myself now.

I regret asking my father waste 60$ on such a game. It's pretty much "cool story bro" and then never play it again.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

Yea, good stories, but replayability is hobbled by 90% of the quests being redundant from one class story to another.

A single player game can stake its fortune on story alone, but at the end of the day, if longevity is the goal of a developer, as it must be with an MMO, then a strong multiplayer element is critical. Unfortunately these instanced matches, particularly huttball, don't cut it.

No matter how much fun TOR is now, it's going to need to flush out open world PvP if it wants to survive in the long term.

I'm confident open world PvP will eventually get fleshed out. I can't imagine this glaring an oversight was made. They probably just decided what was doe was enough for initial release. What game is ever released that isn't still a work in progress?

And there's the nub of it, why I will never really enjoy the current MMO model.

The game's been out what 4 weeks now? They have released several small patches and have made a rather large news post regarding the state of PVP and their willingness and desire to fix it. I'd say they are doing right by us.

I will say that if you want to run through the game a bit quicker, then the BH arsenal merc is worth consideration. The build ends any random encounter before it even starts. Half a dozen enemies standing in your way? 1 DOA says there's not. Are they more badass? 1 DOA + 1 fusion missile + 1 homing dart + sweeping blasters says there's not. Outside of a boss battle, the average fight lasts 3-12 seconds.

Being built around tracer missile gets a bit redundant, but there's no better combo of DPS and CC for PvE. I'm a bit more challenged in PvP, but as long as I stick close to friendlies and provide fire support rather than getting myself caught up in a 1v1 vs a sentinel I'm useful...well maybe not in huttball.

Still slow going though...I jut got to 28th level.
