After a 5970 or 5870
« on: November 30, 2011, 06:09:25 AM »
Looking to complete my tri/quadfire setup and call it quits on my PC for a couple of years.

So I am after a either a 5870 or a 5970.

Ideally it would be a reference card but I would be happy with a rev 2 card as long as it can accept a full cover waterblock.

Let me know if you come across one for cheap please guys. Under 200 squids of United kingdom Money would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.

I hope you have a sandy CPU in your new rig, else your GPU is going to be bottlenecked horrid. My i7-920 @4.3ghz bottlenecked my system badly with two gtx580, which is close enough to the gpu power of your soon to be quad crossfire. Couldn't get GPU over 70% sometimes struggled to get even that high, now it's 99% all the time :D

Eitherway good luck, and show pics when it's done :D :D

how many rads do you have binfish? With my triple rad, 5970 with cpu block and 4.9ghz 2600k my res is getting warm to the touch. You must need a lot to run 3 cards and cpu.

Well that'd do it! Think I'm going to buy a 140 and two 200mm rads for mine. Good luck with finding a 5970 that hasn't been butchered by Its owner :p
