Losing Connection
« on: December 03, 2011, 02:42:15 AM »
Seems lately I have been losing connection to MWLL after about 15-20 minutes of playing.  It is strange though, because it also causes my computer to lose internet connection until I log off and log in, or I restart the computer.  MWLL has been taking longer to start recently as well (black screen on startup nearly lasts a minute now).  Last night I updated my Mobo and GPU drivers hoping it would help.  Anyone have any clues what the problem could be?

Does it occur on any server or a specific server?

You may want to check with your internet supplier, loss of connection sometimes can be caused by having a to high bandwidth through the cables.

The black screen on startup is the intro and bg videos loading with the game itself, iirc.

Happens on Huntress quite regularly, and occasionally on MWBU.  Seems that any more than 20 players and it is more frequent.  Hm, well for some reason the game used to load faster I guess.

This happens to me too. What country are you from?

Had that today on Huntress as well. Idk if I was the only one affected. I lost connection, but the server itself didn't crash or anything. 3 minutes later or so, the connection to Huntress was available again, I saw that there were people on it again and everyone had their previous stats.

CPU overheating? Or maybe you are using a WLAN-adapter that overheats?

TBH, I'm having the same issue.
Not that it breaks my internetconnection alltogether, but I repeatedly get the "losing connection" warning, I always assumed it's because I'm using WLAN, or because there are usually 4 people using the same connection I do...
Thinking about it now tho, it's not always been that way, and happens to me even on servers with pings below 70, which I never had a problem with in older versions. Aside of that, I don't have that kind of problem with other games like Tribes or TF2.

Not sure if that means it's caused by MWLL, but maybe worth looking into anyway.

Nothing of the sort ;). It was only Huntress. Connection to any other server worked. Could have still been some internet connection hickup on my side though.

We don't have access to the crysis netcode so there is not much to look into here.
There comes a point where the talking must stop, and people have to do actual work.

Stupid thing to mention, but it fixes my problem when I start losing connection.
Powercycle your Modem/Router semi-regularly.

For some reason, if I was doing something bandwidth intensive, my router seems to choke and even though my speeds stay the same via speedtest, it will lose connection until I powercycle my shiz.
